Art is not something that happened in one era and that too when human beings were in a position where their basic needs were taken care of and they had the luxury of time and leisure to indulge in artistic pursuits. In fact, if you would notice art still existed when humans had to forage for simple needs like food, shelter and clothing. What else would explain the fact that the most ancient of tribes still found the time and wherewithal to create some form of art or the other? We should take the time to appreciate the fact that people who had to struggle to survive took the time to make something that was pretty. Art in those days was not only for sensual appreciation but was also a means of recording their way of life. Take complex yet beautiful aboriginal art examples, you will see what we mean. You should look at aboriginal art ideas you can’t afford to miss to understand what we are saying.

When my daughter and her husband recently moved, the movers loaded all their earthly possessions onto the truck and disappeared. EVERYTHING was stolen, never to be seen again. My first instinct was. . . WoW! All the baggage of your old life has just disappeared. Of course, that was not what she wanted to hear. Nor is it what I said to her, but it was what I felt from within me.
We've gone mad for Mandalas this week, and in the process of writing our articles on the meaning, history and use of mandalas, we came across two extraordinary artists whose work we had to share. They have much in common - they are both very talented, unique mandala artists - and yet they're also so very different. Bot

Donna Lei Rioli - a Western Australian Indigenous artist - was commissioned by the HealthInfoNet in 2008 to create a new logo incorporating a gecko for the re-development of its website. The gecko was chosen because it is one of a few animals that are found across the great diversity of Australia.

Mandala drawings and Zentangle patters, in a great set of drawings. Self-taught Artist Shagun Goyal creates all of her work by traditional methods, using ink. There is real beauty the melodic repetition of the shapes, all based on the same principles but, so very different from each other. When I choose art to put on a post, I try and go beyond just picking a bit from each artist's works. If I can, I like themes or art that has the same feel, that gives the post a unified look. Her social media site has almost 300 drawings; I picked the ones that are presented in this ring binder with a terracotta colored paper. Really think, that seen together on a page like this, it brings out the beautiful line work, laboriously conceived and executed by Goyal. Press the Image to Enlarge it. Press the Image to Enlarge it.
