The geometry of plants around me is multiplied throughout my work. I am also moved by the specific time of a piece, and the specific location also is an influence. It is both a form of therapy, as well as a meditation. The goal is to commit, finish and eternalize at the same time.

Sobre Mandal'arte no facebook http://on.fb.me/140LlZg Mandal’arte - Mandalas na natureza o trabalho das mandalas na natureza começou há cerca de três anos, como um processo individual e pessoal de descoberta e de experimentação. a pouco e pouco, fui-me apercebendo que aqueles momentos que passava a fazê-las não só me focavam completamente no agora, como me ajudavam a organizar as minhas estruturas internas, criando uma harmonia e um equilíbrio exteriores que, naturalmente, se iam reflectindo e plasmando interiormente. ou vice-versa... os processos são sempre, e simultaneamente, de fora para dentro e de dentro para fora. em termos artísticos, a generosa abundância de recursos – pedras, pauzinhos, cascas de árvore, bagos, sementes, pétalas, folhas, conchas e búzios – garantem não só a diversidade das cores, das texturas e das formas, como a sustentabilidade das ‘obras’. que não consomem papel, nem lápis, nem diluentes, nem tintas, nem óleos, nem telas e, sobretudo, que não se levam para casa, que não ocupam paredes, que não se penduram na sala. e por isso e para mim esta é a arte – por excelência – do desapego e da entrega, da impermanência sagrada, da conexão entre o céu e a terra. uma arte de paciência e de atenção. de pura criatividade, sem nenhum fim que não seja o de ali estar, naquele momento : presente, inteira e, normalmente, a cantar * esta instalação é, então, o resultado de três anos de intensas descobertas e de inúmeros momentos de criatividade e de paz. é a partilha do carácter efémero de uma arte que segue a rota das estações e que proporciona uma comunhão profunda e eterna com a mãe terra, ao mesmo tempo que trabalha o desapego. idealmente, e para todos os que se sentirem tocados por ela, poderá ser uma inspiração que os levará a experimentarem a arte de mandalar e assim contribuírem para ancorar luz na terra. Sobre Inês de Barros Baptista Nota biográfica Inês de Barros Baptista nasceu balança, em noite de lua cheia e ano de cavalo de fogo, e desde pequena que sempre quis SER. mas isso levaria tempo a contar e por isso vai ser sucinta e formal na nota biográfica. formou-se em línguas e literaturas modernas. trabalhou como copy-writer em várias agências de publicidade, como jornalista no jornal Semanário e na PAIS&Filhos, revista da qual foi directora durante oito anos, e foi colaboradora da Pública. escreveu e publicou vários livros para crianças, entre os quais ‘Pede um desejo’ e ‘Índigo, o mistério do rapaz de luz’, e outros tantos para crescidos, como ‘morrer é só não ser visto’ e ‘mães como nós’. pinta mapas da alma (vulgo mapas astrais) e usa as matérias-primas que abundam na natureza para fazer mandalas. é mãe de quatro filhos.
