Rarely does a mascot get the color-change that Twinkie the Kid did for his Devil's Food spinoff. Sure, Super Orange Crisp had a Sugar Bear with a different colored sweater, but this is something far more dramatic and in my opinion, a bit more fun. I've playfully referred to this box in the past as sporting an ethnic Twinkie the Kid. Though there were certainly no civil rights intentions going into his palette alteration, I can't help but think of him as a trailblazer. Sadly, I think he was only kicking around for a year or so. The Kid will always be one of my favorite mascots, and this version of him that much more special.
