It's week three of the Twelve Weeks Of Christmas Countdown! Today I'm sharing a fun fold card that everyone will love! It's bright, festive and fun! Get the kids involved in making this one! It's perfect to stand up on a mantle, desk or table. I received a card with this fold in a card swap I participated in recently. I was so inspired I made my own version! There is plenty of room to write a message on the back of the card so you can utilize the entire front of festive fun! I paired up the Merry and Bright Bundle with the Merry, Bold and Bright DSP from the suite and some of our Silver Foil which is an Online Only product. They all work beautifully together! I did some simple ink blending on my bulbs. This is an easy way to make them shine even more! I used two colors of ink for each bulb. I inked up the bulb in the lighter color first then I used a Blending Brush in the darker color and added a little highlight along one side. This makes the bulbs look like they're really shining! For my color combos I used Melon Mambo/Poppy Parade, Lemon Lime Twist/Granny Apple Green, Pool Party/Blueberry Bushel, Daffodil Delight/Pumpkin Pie. Make your own! Melon Mambo Cardstock 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" On the long side score at 2", 3 1/8", 5 3/8" and 6 1/2" Merry Bold and Bright DSP 1 3/4" x 5 1/4" two pieces 1/8" x 5 1/4" two pieces 2" x 5 1/4" Scraps of Silver Foil and Basic White for stamping and die cutting I have a video below with all the details on this card. Oh my… I love Christmas! Seriously, like kind of a never ending type of love. As soon as Christmas is over I start counting the months down for Christmas to come back. I love everything about it, the Christmas Decorations, the delicious Christmas Recipes, I love Christmas Gifts and the Christmas Lights. I love the …
Sending Christmas cards is a cherished tradition that brings joy and warmth to both the sender and the recipient. While traditional Christmas cards often feature reds, greens, and golds, there is no rule stating that we can’t add a festive twist with unique and non-traditional color palettes. By incorporating Spellbinders different colors and textures using their amazing dies, hot foil plates, embossing folders, and letterpress plates we can create truly one-of-a-kind greetings that stand out from the crowd. Come and join Lisa Mensing from Confetti and Cards as she presents five fun, festive card designs that are perfect for the upcoming Merry & Bright Season. I truly believe that there is beauty in simplicity, and this card perfectly exemplifies that notion. By using the stunning new Poinsettia Bells and Border 3D embossing folder and matching die, as well as a simple ombre ink blending technique with Distress Oxides in the elegant shades of Lumberjack Plaid and Tattered Rose, this card captures the very essence of simplicity. To add a touch of glamour, a quick spritz of gold shimmer spray does wonders. Complete your masterpiece with a heartfelt holiday sentiment of your choice. I find die-cutting to be an incredibly soothing activity. It allows my mind to wander and provides a sense of relaxation. So, I thoroughly enjoyed die-cutting the pieces to assemble the new All Occasion Bow recently released by Spellbinders, which is the highlight of this project. To add some dimension, I decided to use the Loops Embossing Folder on my card base, creating a cohesive look that ties everything together flawlessly. I’m absolutely thrilled with the unconventional color choices paired with the ombre ink blending on the bow. The addition of gold accents takes it to another level of beauty and elegance. I just love it! The gold accents on the embossing and die-cut pieces is super simple with a Gelly Roll pen and it’s another element that helps create a cohesive look. I love the addition of the floral die-cut pieces from the Petite Blooms and Sentiments. Take a look at the card below! It’s yet another fantastic demonstration of simplicity, crafted using Spellbinders Merry & Bright Etched Dies and Peppermint Stripes Embossing Folder. These products truly make creating beautiful cards a simple and joyful experience! In life, there are times when we need simplicity, and these products provide just that. With their help, you can effortlessly design stunning cards that will bring joy to your loved ones. When it comes to simplicity, it is important to acknowledge the value of having products in our craft rooms that serve multiple purposes. Whether this versatility is by design or a fortunate coincidence, these multi-use products can greatly expedite and simplify the creative process. But let’s not forget the space-saving factor, which is a huge plus for someone with limited space. The Spellbinders Betterpress Letterpress plates are truly impressive, and there are numerous reasons why they have captured my admiration. These plates offer endless possibilities for crafting stunning letterpress cards and exquisite foiled projects when used in conjunction with the Glimmer Machine. In my opinion, this combination is a definite win-win situation. I have created two cards using Spellbinders Merry Christmas to You Letterpress Plate. For both cards, I used ombre ink blending technique. On one of the cards, I applied the letterpress inks, Strawberry, and Apricot, directly to the plate, while on the other card, I used Distress Oxide Lumberjack Plaid and Tattered Rose Inks for ink blending. It’s worth mentioning that when using foil, I apply the foil before ink blending. All the cards featured here today can be easily put together using Bearly Art Glue and Spellbinders Foam Adhesives. This holiday season, embrace the spirit of cardmaking with the “Merry & Bright” collection. These simply festive designs will bring joy and cheer to your loved ones’ mailboxes. We’re lighting it up this month with this fabulous card kit, Merry & Bright!! There are so many unique possibilities with this kit—you’re going to love it!! Release is in two days, September 22 at 10am, Eastern so make a note. Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details and more inspiration from the Design Team. For this card I went all glitzy using Silver Sparkle and Gold Sparkle card stocks along with Black Licorice card stock for the cords and sockets. First of all, I sponged Broken China Distress Ink on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper for my background. Then I cut out my components, using Christmas Lights Die-namics, and laid them all out for placement. The shadows on each bulb was done with a Copic marker. Once I had my placement nailed down, I heat embossed a sentiment from Merry & Bright Stamp Set with gold detail embossing powder and popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape and added the die cut components for the finish. I love this sparkly card!! And that’s it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by—see you back tomorrow for Day One of MFT’s September Card Kit, Merry & Bright Countdown! All products from My Favorite Things unless otherwise noted. A colourful Christmas card made with the Merry & Bright stamp set and Merry & Bright dies from the Stampin' Up! 2023 September-December Mini Catalogue
These Christmas cards are for four challenges. First, I've used the sketch at the Inspire Create Challenge#151 here. Second, it's for the TGIF Challenge#438 here. It's a What Would You Do with challenge to make one card two ways. This is perfect for me as I definitely need lots of Christmas cards!! I just used the same sketch, changing up the DSP. Third, it's for the Christmas Craft Creations September Challenge-Metallics, here. For the metallics, I've used some of the new, Melon Mambo and Granny Apple Green Foil sheets and the Iridescent Adhesive-Backed Discs from the Merry Bold & Bright Suite. Finally, it fits for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge#226 here. I went across the middle row with metallics, free and gems. Or in this case, Iridescent discs! Also from that suite is the Merry & Bright stamp set and dies and the Merry Bold & Bright DSP.
