Coffee Palace, Mildura, c. 1908. This building opened in 1890 as part of a nation wide movement of Temperance Hotels, the most well known is perhaps the Windsor Hotel in Melbourne which in an earlier life was the Grand Coffee Palace. The Mildura Coffee Palace was granted a full liquor licence in 1919 and became the Mildura Grand Hotel and is still operating today.
