My parents came for a brief visit in between their travels between work and a wedding. We took them to Muir Woods for a leisurely stroll among the redwoods. It was a beautiful, crisp morning, with smaller crowds and sunlight streaming through the trees. The boardwalk was well maintained and the enti
We headed for the three notches of the White Mountains for a few days, taking in the beautiful fall colors and hiking our way to stunning views with good friends. Here are a few places that will take your breath away.
On a lazy weekend afternoon, my husband and I decided to venture out for a stroll in the botanical gardens. After waiting several weeks for news on my camera lens repair, I was stoked to find that Zeiss had sent me a brand new lens instead. So to celebrate, we took photos of the beautiful flowers and posed for each other.
We spent the afternoon enjoying a chocolaty teatime at Dandelion’s recently opened Bloom Salon. If you haven’t heard of Dandelion, they make small batch chocolates in San Francisco. Their decadent hot chocolate is also a must try.
We lucked out with a last minute camping trip to Yosemite last week, staying at Upper Pines Campground. Here are a few snippets from our trip and views from our day hikes.
The late summer in San Francisco has ended and temperatures have started dropping. We bundled up and headed to the farmer’s market over the weekend. We enjoyed the brisk autumn air and the simple joys of carrying out mundane everyday tasks in each other’s company.
We booked a short stay along the coastline with a view of the ocean, framed by a June-gloom kind of fog. As we were fairly remote, we decided to stay in before the wedding festivities and had a little impromptu photography session of our own.
We planned a little last minute getaway over the weekend, driving south with bags packed until we found wildflowers. Several hours in, we found ourselves surrounded by vibrant shades of yellow, oranges, blues, and purples carpeting the rolling hills and plains. My favorites were the blues and purple
As we pulled up to the rolling hills of green, dipped in gold by the sunlight, we found ourselves alone among the wildflowers and the softly blowing breeze.
One of my favorite cakes fresh from the oven is this chocolate stout cake recipe. There’s something decadent & indulgent about eating these mini cakes in the kitchen with someone special on a rainy day.
We headed into Sequoia National Park for a casual day hike at Paradise Creek Trail. We were greeted by a winter wonderland with snow covered trees, mountains, and rolling hills. As the snow continued to fall in large flakes, the world around us turned white.
Now that we’re back home and spring is starting to make its way to San Francisco, we’ve been gathering with friends and making pie. We gathered ingredients to make a blueberry crumble pie and a savory one made with butternut squash, mushrooms, onions, fresh thyme, bay leaf, and bechamel cream.
With the countless days we are at home lately, it’s always refreshing to be out in the open - surrounded by nature, the wintry crisp air, and an endless blue sky.
We started hiking around 5pm on a Friday, crossing open fields of wildflowers billowing in the wind and rising above a sea of clouds. We walked along breathtaking cliff edges at the start of golden hour and cooked dinner to a stunning view of Mount Rainier framed by pastel clouds. We returned under the bright glow of a full moon rise.

After a year hiatus from camping due to COVID, my husband was able to reserve one of three coveted camp spots along the coastline, nestled under the cover of cypress trees. We spent Valentine’s day here, just the two of us.
My husband and I spent a week in New York, half of it working, and the other half on vacation. We strolled around the neighborhoods on foot and jumped on the subway from time to time. On our first day off, we picked up these pastries from Bibble & Sip and headed to Central Park to view the s
There’s a special kind of feeling when you can be at ease in a group of friends, exploring windy roads without much of a plan, in search of the super bloom. Even if we didn’t find any, we’d still be content, simply enjoying each other’s company along the journey together. With our friends, Alex &a
As I’m sure many can relate, there are days when I get home from work and am craving an indulgent, gourmet meal, but am feeling rather tired. Here’s a quick pita bread pizza you can prep and bake at home in twenty minutes.
It’s not often I buy physical books anymore, but here are a few I’m really excited about. Can’t wait for them to arrive this fall! Sharing some links here.
