Ashlee from My So Called Crafty Life recreates the home of Miss Marple for today's #DIYTheRoom One of my absolute favorite fictional characters is Agatha Christie's Miss Marple, the spinster detective. I chose this collection of projects based on what I imagine her home to look like. She was from that generation where they were very fluent in needlecrafts. I imagine beautiful floral fabrics and knits around her little cottage like plush knitted rugs and blankets, lace lampshades, beautiful tea cups and china, and beautiful patchwork floral pillows. I think this ensemble of crafts would fit her perfectly! See the full guide here »

Part 1: http://missmissypaperdolls.blogspot.com/2015/05/lalaloopsy-paper-dolls.html I've designed these two paper doll pages based on MGA's doll line, Lalaloopsy. This features the characters Pillow Featherbed and Bea Spells-A-Lot. Each doll has multiple outfits and a pet. I used Adobe Illustrator to create the dolls.
Time for another Field Trip Friday where our DT steps outside their comfort zone and amazing things happen!! Get ready to be WOWED! Gabi has stepped into the world of mixed media and made an adorable canvas that makes you feel empowered and artistic! She also made a fun video tutorial and gave us all the pattern for her adorable lil miss. Mixed Media Canvas by: Gabrielle Pollacco check out the detail.... seriously so much fun! Supplies: 11 x 14 inch canvas Patterned Paper; Little Miss Brenna, Little Miss Maree, Little Miss Jaquoya, Little Miss Cut Outs, Gabrielle: Cameo, Dot 6x6 Paper Pad: Little Miss Stamps: Midnight Frost Rub-on's: Country Garden I've seriously got that UTZ in my tummy that says I have to go home and try this. Next up... ROMY Here's what she had to say... "Since each Bo Bunny collection comes with many gorgeous papers and beautiful coordinating embellishments, it is pretty tempting to stick to one collection on a layout. I sometimes mix up two collections that look a lot alike, but I have never combined two very different ranges of paper on one layout. But the Ambrosia collection inspired me to use a mixture of vintage and colourful on my layout. The muted, vintage tones in the background will make the beautiful colours stand out even more. I used one sheet of the Welcome Home and one sheet of Et Cetera for my background. I also incorporated a sheet of music note paper from an old book. On top of those vintage layers I added papers and embellishments from the Ambrosia collection to create a colourful 'frame' for my photo. I had a blast mixing up these collections that I normally wouldn't use together and I hope you will give it a try too." The little things are not so little after all Romy Veul Bo Bunny Supplies: Patterned Paper: Flowers, Marigold, Primrose, Roses, Stripe, Cut Outs/Ambrosia; Extra/Et Cetera; Stripe/Welcome Home Chipboard: Ambrosia 12 x 12 Stickers: Ambrosia Cardstock Sticker, Ambrosia Dimensional Stickers Jewels: Ambrosia Rub-ons: Ambrosia Every single time I read that the girls mix up lines, I think I want to try it... however, I have yet to do it, but Romy made it seem so easy! And last but certainly not least.... Juliana says, "I knew immediately that using rub ons would be stepping outside my comfort zone. I hate to admit this, but I rarely use them. I also hate to admit this...I am afraid of them! I am not a stick it down and move on kind of scrapper. I like to move things around before I commit to their final placement. And as you all know, rub ons can't be moved around at all. Recently one our very own designers, Tara Orr, shared a tip about putting them on cardstock and then cutting around them. Why had I never thought of that?! This is the technique I used and I combined them with stickers from the 12 x 12 Combo Stickers to embellish my layout. If you are interested in more step by step details on how I used them on my layout, please feel free to stop by my blog: 17turtles." Make A Wish Juliana Michaels What a fun idea and new way to play with all those rubons you've been storing up! Emma makes me wanna get down and make sand angels! Today you've gotten lots of fun inspiration and ideas that will last you all weekend! Make sure you leave us a comment and post your layouts and projects on facebook. We love to see what you all come up with!!!
love the fish purse. Here's a lovely set of three dolls of the actress Deanna Durbin by Merril publishing company 1940. I believe this set is almost complete, but it is cut so it may be missing small pieces or outfits. These were once mounted in a scrapbook but fortunately for me, the double stick tape was so old it came off easily leaving no residue or discoloration to the dolls or clothing. Again, this is a busy work week for me, so I may not have time to post. Also the next poll is delayed because I need to do more research on magazine dolls. Enjoy!

base July is almost over. Back to school soon! lots of stuff happening at work. Busy busy. It's hot here! Anyway, this month's theme was Ballerina/Dancer. i pretty much just stuck with ballerina. I can't say I've seen many ballets, because I usually fall asleep but I love love love ballerina costumes. And a few of my favorite movies involve ballerinas (The Red Shoes, Susperia, Black Swan). As a kid, I loved ballerina paper dolls. Wait, I still do! Included are lots of tutus, including Odette from the Swan Princess. Three sets of ballet shoes, and three hair styles. Please note I will be signing all my art as Melissa Pepe now. A very large and lovely black and white paper doll set from Charles Ventura featuring bridal gowns of the 1800s and two dolls. Charles Ventura did many black and white bridal sets, all which are lovely and detailed as well as historically inspired.
So I just received the latest issue of OPDAG's Paper Doll Studio, babies and children theme. This is the doll I designed for that issue. Her name is Heidi, her outfits are inspired by fairy tales and Lalaloopsy dolls. I've done some more pages for this doll, but I have not colored them and will not for a while (other projects to finish first).

Charlotte Charades Peanut Big Top Here are two Lalaloopsy paper dolls I've designed. These were featured in the Circus Issue of OPDAG's Paper Doll Studios Issue 104. These are based on the MGA dolls. Charlotte Charades is a mime and Peanut Big Top is a clown. I've designed a few pages of these but I still have a lot of characters to finish, especially since MGA is always adding to the line. These were created using Adobe Illustrator. I feel the layout is a little cluttered because I tried to get all the outfits to fit on one page. Also, 700th post.

Whenever I make a pronouncement here, it seems to be quickly followed by a u-turn. (Most recently: no casting on anything else for myself until the closet is sorted out! / hell-OH! tag team sweaters) But it is not always thus. For instance, at the first of the year I pronounced that one of the […]
