Sam Hodenius on Instagram: "When people say that they've "been to Arashiyama" they usually really mean the area around the station and the famous bamboo grove. 🎋 But the area of Arashiyama is much bigger and actually hosts several picturesque bamboo groves! Not only that, Arashiyama also has one of the oldest preserved historical streets that is lined with bamboo groves, traditional machiya and temples: Saga Toriimoto Preserved Street. While the area around the station was packed as per usual, we only met a few people while exploring the rest of Arashiyama for hours. 🥹 🚌 From Arashiyama Station, take the bus 92 to "Otagidera mae".
