This unique geometric triptych is an art deco inspired three panel piece of layered wood wall art. It is made from two layers of 1/4 inch wood, making the panels look and feel substantial. Each panel is roughly 10.5 inches wide by 23 inches tall (~32 inches wide with all 3 panels) There are a variety of stains, paint colors, or natural woods to choose from for the back layer and a choice between alder and mahogany wood for the top layer. 100% PLYWOOD En: At TIMBERLOF we design our three-dimensional wood art from timber to a finished piece. The thorough creation of dowel art starts with picking wood and milling it down to exact chunks. One by one, every piece of wood is sanded. If required, we apply stain before putting the piece together to keep the colour even. Later on, the prepared dowels are secured together using wood glue and nails. We make sure our work is firmly attached. After the necessary touch-ups, we proceed to finish the art. The coloring oil is applied on all fragments but the natural wood pieces, which remain raw. The application takes a whole day and is a very tiresome process. The pieces are coated 2-3 times before they are ready. Ultimately, we adhere the frame, refine the art and attach necessary hardware. Detailed production begins with the selection of wood and its processing to obtain equal pieces, which are later ground. Prepared slats are at a later stage fixed with glue for wood and nails. After carefully ensuring that our work is neatly glued together, we move on to trimming the frame and any corrections. When corrections are made, the work is finished. We apply coloring oil on every part of it. The process is very time consuming, it takes a whole day, because 2-3 layers of oil are required to achieve the desired effect.
