Ash is a new character released in Apex Legends Season 11 Escape I got the honor of making. She sports a new look designed by Cristina Ferez(https://www.artstation.com/lavinart) and me oversee by Senior Art Director Jung Park. Hethe Srodawa was the original concept artist who designed the OG Ash from Titanfall. (https://www.artstation.com/hethe) Which serves as the backbone of the new version. Modelshop Team Lead Ryan Lastimosa(3D Art Director) Character Art Director Gary Huang Character Lead Will Cho Thank you team leadership for feedbacks and guidance throughout the process. Process: I was tasked to create an initial redesign of Ash in next gen graphics before official production of the character began. Jung and Cristina created the final approved concept art. Standard workflow of high res sculpting, hard surface modeling, low poly, bake and texture. Ken Chiang and Joshua Dudleston are hero tech artists who worked closely with me on her rig. Her animated hood, contractible blades, shutter eyelids...etc are all amazing details they took care to get right. She is brought to life by our team of talented animators Shawn Wilson, Moy Parra, Ali Potter, Joon Song, Paul Messerly, Joe Bowers. Narrative/Story by Ashley Reed, Manny Hagopian, Amanda Doiron and Bilal Arshad. I am so excited for everyone to see and play her in the game. She is definitely the coolest character I got to work on!!
