Finished project Motte and Bailey done!

This is what Shrewsbury Castle may have looked like in the 12th century, when it was a classic motte and bailey. This model can be found in Shrewsbury Castle and the Shropshire Regimental Museum. Shrewsbury Castle was first built in 1067 on the orders of William the Conqueror. It was built to protect his newly conquered territory from the Welsh.

Motte and bailey castle, similar to Talisand's, except the bailey is much larger to take in the original manor house and hall and the moat was a natural bend in the Lune River on three sides only.
