This photo focuses on life-long Theta friendships! The photo shows three of the Fraternity’s first initiates after Theta’s founding (Jennie Allen Bovard, Mary Stevenson Buchtel, and Alice Allen Hawk) in 1869 and again in 1925. The three were friends as young women when they entered DePauw (formerly Indiana Asbury) in 1869, and became Thetas in November, March, and April 1870, respectively. Mary was the first initiate after Theta’s founding. Each time they met over the years they took a picture.
