Hello everyone! Ingrid here today with two canvas layouts to share with you. For my first project I used a photo from our vacation to Greece last year. DREAM With this project I started by making the background using a stencil and modeling paste. Added the paints and toned it down with some gesso. Used a thread string to make the vertical line. Also used some felting wool to create some texture. The dream arrow chippie, almost bare and with a light touch of gesso. The dandelion chippie got two coats of gesso. The felting wool gives it a nice dreamy, almost a watercolor look. Added some beads. A piece of the Leafy Shrub Set #1. Some flowers with a center of the felting wool. All got a final touch with some gesso. 2Crafty Chipboard used: Arrow Word Set Leafy Shrub Set 1 Whispy Dandelions And here is my second project: Hubby and I are also loving our long walks together and on these walks I love to take photos. This one is from an early walk with the fresh dew on all the plants and trees. BEAUTY I started this project by glueing the elegant flourish and some bubble clumps. Gessoed the whole canvas and added some modeling paste. I made some circles in the wet modeling paste with a small stick. Once dry, I added all the paints. Some gesso as an extra touch to let the chipboard stand out more. The circles made in the wet modeling paste gives a nice background. The flourish on the background. A piece of the bubble clump. The same piece of flourish I used in the background but this one got a coat with gesso. Under all the chipboards and flowers, I added some felting wool. The word was painted with some acrylic paint. Another piece of the bubble clumps, also painted with some gesso. Made some watered white acrylic paint for the splatters. Love how it looked on that felting wool. 2Crafty Chipboard used: 6inch Circle Revolution Bubble Clumps Elegant Flourish Mini Travel Words Set 2 Enjoy your day! Ingrid xxx

Hi 2Crafty fans. Welcome back to the blog. Today I'm sharing a step-by-step tutorial using beautiful emerald greens. I do hope you find the tutorials and videos that we do useful. And that by following them you are inspired by all the different processes and techniques the Design Team employs to create their beautiful projects. Each one of us has our very own style of scrapbooking. By seeing how others achieve their finished project, I think we all come away inspired to try new things. I hope this inspires you! "this GIRL" 2Crafty awesomeness used: Tahnya's 11" Border Leafy Shrub Set 1 Hear Bubble Set Spacers from the 6" Clock Face Discs Leafy Shrub Set 2 this GIRL - title Ok here we go... As always, I first coated all the chipboard with white gesso. On all the Chipboard, except for the title, I used Prima's Woodlands Water Color set. I first used a few coats of Deep Moss, then went over them Shadow to darken them up a bit. While they were still wet, I streaked through the leaves with Shadow again to add a dimensional look. The title was painted with Titanium White Acrylic paint. First, I cut the patterned paper and placed it on top of the dark green cardstock. I added 2 layers of lace and glued them between the papers. I then cut Tahnya's Border in half and placed the pieces along the edge of the patterned paper. I took the spacers that came in the 6" Clock Discs set and placed them all down the left side of the layout over the lace. (Use everything you can girls!) Then I added leaves from the Leafy Shrub Set 1 and 2 to the center over the circles. Next I added the photo matted with a wooden and an ephemera frame, with an ephemera circle piece over the photo on the left and a strip of ephemera words on the right. I finished off the left side of the layout adding the flowers and circles from the Heart Bubble Set on the bottom. Next I glued down the Chipboard from the Leafy Shrub Set 1 to the upper right side of the photo. Then I placed the title, this GIRL, on the bottom of the photo. Then after adding the flowers on the right, it's finished. I hope you liked this tutorial and found it easy to follow. Follow the other DT members for more tutorials and videos. Until next time, take care and keep safe!

Hi there peeps, thanks for stopping by.Today I have a layout to share and naturally I have used some of my favourite pieces of 2Crafty chipboard. 2Crafty Chipboard Used...Flourish Adornment Set #6Fi
Hi everyone, welcome to the blog. I'm back to share my last layout of August with you. Don't you love it when you see a particular paper and just know exactly which photo, chipboard and colors you are going to use on it? And then it just falls into place? This one was like that for me. How wonderful when you don't have to rack your brain to make something you like come together! "Simple Moments" Beautiful 2Crafty I used: 6" Circle Revolution Frames Spring Flower Bunches Mini Flourish Bits Simple Moments make Great Memories As always, I first coated the chipboard with gesso. I used the 6" Circle Revolution Frame here, kind of playing off the circles on the patterned paper, to add more depth. I used Prima's Confetti Watercolor Set - Orange, and Prima's Shimmering LightsWatercolor Set - Glaze and Disco, to mimic the colors of the circles on the paper. Then I cut it at an angle, placing it coming around from the back of the photo. These are the very pretty Spring Flower Bunches. On the bottom ones I just put a light coat of white gesso. By not putting on a second coat, they kept the light grey color. On the others, I used the same Prima Watercolors as on the 6" Circle Revolution Frame. Here I tucked in a swirl from the Mini Flourish Bits under the flowers just to extend the composition. This also was painted with the same watercolors as the previous chipboard. On the title piece, Simple Moments make Great Memories, I cut the "make Great Moments" off. (to be used on another project) I thought something small would look better in this small space. I first coated it with black gesso, then painted it with Greystone from Prima's Woodlands Watercolor set. And there it is. Added some of my favorite flowers and a few rub-ons and it's finished. Hope you like it and that it has inspired you. Until next month, stay safe and keep crafting.

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had an awesome weekend. For most of you, I'm sure the sun is shining more, the weather is getting warmer and the flowers are starting to bloom. All the signs of spring are in the air and beautiful colors are beginning to emerge so it is fitting that our theme this week is, Make A Rainbow. We're featuring Tim Holtz products and with all the Distress Ink colors and his amazing stamps and dies this should be a very popular challenge. I mean, c'mon, who doesn't love Tim Holt!. I bet if you're like me, at least 85% or more of your craft stash is made up of Tim Holtz products. For my project, I created a spring cottage shadow box that has all the signs that spring is in the air. Below, I've put together a tutorial for some of the elements on my panel. I hope you find some of the tips and tricks useful. Also, please welcome our guest designer this month, Amy Bethke from Amy's Card Obsession. Her talent is amazing so please stop by her blog and check out her work, you won't be disappointed! To create the window, I cut a 6" x 6" piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb. card stock and ink the entire piece with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I'm not worried about the mini ink blending tool leaving marks on the paper as this will add to the character of the "wood" on the window. Next, I create some splotches or circles of Vintage Photo Distress Ink on the card stock with a mini ink blending tool. I do the same with Ground Espresso Distress Ink. I cut the window from the Tim Holtz Window & Window Box die set. I place the window in the Misti stamping tool to apply a woodgrain pattern to the window. I use the Tammy Tutterow Big Woodgrain background stamp and stamp that onto the window using Potting Soil Archival Ink. Here, is a close up of the window after stamping on the woodgrain pattern. I want there to be a curtain in the window so I cut a piece of patterned card stock from the Tim Holtz Menagerie 8x8 paper stash the same size as the window. Placing the patterned piece of card stock behind the window, I draw the shape of the curtains with a pencil. I cut along the pencil lines and erase any marks left behind. Here is a close up of the window with the curtains. (Sorry this photo is a little blurry.) To create the outside walls of the cottage, I cut a 4-1/2" x 6-1/2" piece of card stock and cover the entire piece with the Tim Holtz Bricked Layering Stencil with Ranger Opaque Crackle Texture Paste. (Note: I cut the sides away on the Tim Holtz Bricked stencil so there isn't a harsh line along the edges. This allows me to use the stencil on larger areas.) Now that my piece is completely dry, I begin to add Vintage Photo Distress Crayon pigment in random areas. I draw it on and rub it in with my finger tips. I love how the Distress Crayon pigment goes into the tiny cracks. The inside of the window, or the part that will show when looking into the house, is simply a piece of Bristol water color paper the same size as the window covered with Broken China Distress Ink. I drip on large droplets of water so there is some variation in the colors and wipe the excess water away with a paper towel. To give the curtain some depth, I ink Walnut Stain and Ground Espresso Distress Ink along the edges of the curtain and some Simon Says Stamp High Dive in random areas of the curtain for a deeper blue color. I made the window into a little shadow box by propping the window pane onto 3d foam tape. I create a "window" with Judkins Window Plastic by cutting the plastic the same size as the window and adhere all the layers together to create the shadow box. The layers are as follows from the top down: window pane, window plastic, curtain, 3d foam tape and blue background piece. Inside the window there is a Tim Holtz Tiny Vial with moss stuffed inside and a rose ephemera piece from the Tim Holtz Snippets Ephemera Paperie pieces. I adhered a small ephemera clock to the wall on the inside and a cute little silhouette of a cat looking inside the window on the outside of the window so his cute little tail can hang down. To create the flowers, I use the small flower die as shown above. I use the 5mm and 1mm ball stylus from the McGill Paper Blossoms Tool Kit to shape the flowers. Place the top side of the flower onto the shaping pad and pull the petals to the center using the 5mm ball tip. This will curl the petals inward. Turn the flower over and use the 1mm ball tip and push down in the center of the flower. This will fan out the petals and complete the flower shaping. Here is a close-up of the flower. I create 7 colors representing the colors of a rainbow. I cut seven 2" x 3" pieces of Neenah Solar White 110 lb. card stock and ink both the top and bottom sides of each piece using the following Distress Ink Colors: Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn, Tumbled Glass, Blueprint Sketch and Wilted Violet. I cut 5 flowers out of each inked piece. I use one of the flowers (see photo below) from the Tim Holtz Wildflower Thinlits die set and use that as a stem: After cutting the stems from Bazzill Lime Crush card stock and ink the edges with Forest Moss Distress Ink. I pick up the tiny flowers with a tweezer, dip them in Ranger Multi Matte Medium and place them on the stem. Now that all the colors of flowers are glued to their stems, I will add the centers to the flowers. I add the flowers to the stems before adding the centers because it's much easier as the flowers will stay straight when applying the tiny dabs of glue. I use Prima Black Micro Beads for the centers of the flowers. To create the centers for the flowers, squeeze a tiny drop of Ranger Multi Matte Medium into each center. Place the flower stem into a tray. (I use the No Spill Tray Mate but I have provided a link below to several similar trays in the supplies which function in the same way.) Poor the micro beads over the glue centers and gently shake off any excess. Set it aside to completely dry without touching. Here is a close-up of the flower centers when they are dry. To complete the panel, I adhered each element as shown above to a 6" x 8" piece of Bazzill Butter Mints card stock that has been distressed with a Prima Distressing Tool and inked with Ground Espresso Distress Ink. I create some cut grass from the Tim Holtz Tapered Fringe Decorative Strip. I cut two strips from Bazzill Lime Crush card stock and ink the edges with Forest Moss Distress Ink. I offset the strips, one from the other, and adhered them to the bottom of the distressed panel. I adhere that panel to a 7" x 9" piece of Bazzill Malt Ball card stock and underneath that is a 7-1/4" x 9-1/4" piece of Bazzill Walnut Cream card stock. I add a strip of gathered burlap ribbon underneath the grass. On the top corner I add a Tim Holtz Index Clip Fastener with the word "imagine" from the Big Chat sticker set to complete my project. I hope you enjoyed seeing the process I used to create my Spring Cottage Window Shadow Box project and that you join us for this fun challenge by adding your project to Simon Says Stamp's Monday Challenge Blog for your chance to win a $50 gift voucher to their amazing store. Hi Everyone! Welcome back to the wonderful 2Crafty blog. Today I'm sharing a layout that's a little bit country. To me, it gives the feeling of a quiet day on the farm. Hope you like it. "today" 2Crafty magic used: Old fence Mixed Fine Border Set Lattice Leaves Chicken Barbed Wire Amelia Flower Stems Grass Clumps Fine Word Set 3 As always, each piece of chipboard was first covered with gesso to give it a good seal. That being said, let's get started. Starting at the top, I painted the border from the Mixed Fine Border Set with White Acrylic Paint, then tucked it in between the 2 pieces of patterned paper framing the photo. Here is one of the flowers from Amelia Flower Stems. I painted the flower with White Acrylic Paint. The flower center is a center I stole from another flower. I painted the center with Yellow and Yellow Oxide Acrylic Paint and then lightly went over it with white gesso. The stem and leaves were painted with Viva 'My Paper World Paper Soft-Color' in Light Moss Green. Here is the other flower from Amelia Flower Stems. I used the same technique on both flowers. Also peeking out is one of the Lattice Leaves. They are here and also tucked in among the flowers on the bottom of the layout. I painted them with Viva 'My Paper World Paper Soft-Color in Light Moss Green. The Old Fence is my favorite piece of chipboard on this layout! Love it! I used a mixture of different colors of Acrylic Paint and Weathered Wood Crackling Medium. Love how it turned out! The title today was painted with White Acrylic Paint. Here also are more of the Lattice Leaves tucked in under the flowers. Here is the Chicken Barbed Wire. This is what gives this layout the country feel I mentioned. I first used Viva Ferro Steel Paint, then dabbed over it with Viva Facetten Lock Silver Crackling Color. The Chicken Wire is also tucked in under the top left of the photo. The Grass Clumps that are on the bottom of the photo and on top of the fence were painted with Viva 'My Paper World Paper Soft-color in Light Moss Green. And there's that fabulous fence again! I cut the Old Fence in half so I could use it on both sides of the photo. did I mention that I LOVE this fence?? And there it is. This is a little bit different for me. Never done a "country" layout before. But I am pleased with how it turned out, and I hope you like it too! I'll be back in a few weeks with another layout featuring beautiful 2Crafty goodness!

Hello and welcome! Tonight I have a new and cute project to share with you as my Design Team work for Dusty Attic. I have titled my project "Remember" as I am using a very cutesey older photo of my youngest daughter. It seems so long ago that she use to make me cups of tea from her cubby house that daddy made her. Oh how time flies. For my project layout I have combined two different collections which I love to do from time to time. It was by accident that I found I loved these two papers together and they matched Dusty Attic's March moodboard I felt, well a few shades lighter of course but in my head they matched. For those of you who have not seen the moodboard as yet, I have shared it below. There is still plenty of time too to upload an entry if you are keen to win some fabulous Dusty Attic chipboards. So from the moodboard I took the dark browns, grey and the lighter red and orange shades. [gallery grids="News" image_size="large" columns="2" size="medium" ids="2592,2593"] My background page consisted of Sea Creatures from the Sand and Sea collection along with Rusty Autumns Blooming Autumn papers. I did a little framework with my papers, added in some stamping using Gabi's Texture and Ethereal Stamp Sets using archival inks and distress inks to do this. I then went on to add in one of my all time favourite pieces of Dusty Attic Chipboard the Decorative Scroll #1. This was used to frame my cute picture. I primed my piece with gesso firstly and allowed it to dry. I then did some stamping using Gabi's Ethereal Stamps with archival ink in the watering can colour. I then went on to give it a little colour using Inka Gold in Apricot. You can see the outcome below. The Trellis (large) was used behind the Decorative Scroll to help it pop. I tore sections of the chipboard to give it a worn look as with any shabby chic project. I inked it with Watering can Archival Ink and then randomly sponged it over with a little white gesso. While these dried I went on and fussy cut two pages of the Rusty Autumns Blooming Autumn papers. These are a little time consuming but I find very rewarding at the end of the cutting. [caption id="attachment_1995" align="aligncenter" width="244"] Windows and Shutters #3[/caption] My next Dusty addition was the Window and shutters #3. These are just adorable. I cut sections of the fussy cut elements from Blooming Autumns gorgeous paper and adhered it behind the window. And then behind that I cut another piece from the Blooming Autumn to sit behind it. I coloured my window and shutters similarly to the Decorative Scroll and allowed it to all dry. You can see below the window with the papers behind. My word Remember was one that Jen Hedger had cut for me some time ago. Did you know that you can ask for speciality words or phrases. Jen does to order. There is nothing that this lady cannot do! So my next step was to start layering using firstly the large chipboard Trellis with the fussy cut elements. I then added in some beautiful flowers from 49andMarket as below. These were dusted with white gesso to keep with the shabby chick look. [gallery grids="News" image_size="large" columns="4" size="medium" ids="1854,766,483,2228"] Below you can see the clustering with the chipboard , flowers and fussy cut elements. That is all from me today. I do hope you have enjoyed my project. Until next time take care and happy crafting. Tina x
