Every year I do a little round-up of my favorite cards from the past year - it's a good way to look back and remember the year. If you'd like details on any of these, just click on it, and you'll be taken back to its original post. Not as much stamping anymore, is there? Even sentiments are dies sometimes now, and embossing folders and cover dies are used for our backgrounds. But, as always, I'm still stuck on my flowers and birds - some things DON'T change! Sending you my best wishes for a creative 2023!

Hello all! I am so happy to be popping in today to share a cutie patootie project that I created for this month's Birthday Project Challenge! I ALWAYS need birthday cards, so this challenge holds a sweet place in my heart because it forces me to add to my stash. This month's challenge was to use circles in unusual and unexpected ways to create a birthday card. My immediate thought was to make some cute posies with several sizes of stitched circle dies from the Stitched Circle STAX Die-Namics, solid card stock and coordinating polka dot papers. And here's what I came up with! I actually really love the way these sweet flowers turned out. The stems and leaves were created using the Stitched Flowers Die-Namics, the sentiment is from the Garden Fairies Stamp Set, and the sentiment strip was made using the Fishtail Flag Trio Die-Namics. I've listed and linked all of the MFT Products that I used below. Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other birthday projects that my fellow teammates have created for your inspiration! And while you're there, why not link up your own birthday card using circles in some way, for your chance to win a $50 Shopping Spree to the MFT Online Boutique! It's a random draw, so everyone that plays has a chance to win! That's it for me today, kids! I'll be back next week with another project and process video! Until then, please stay safe and well. And thanks for spending some of your time with me here . . . it means the world to me that you do! MFT PRODUCTS USED:

Hello again!! The time has finally come for you to get your hands on the new April Release products!! And I hope you are as excited about this release as I am! Today's project features the new Fishtail Flag Trio Die-Namics!! And I'm extra excited about this set of dies because I designed them!! I have always liked a true sentiment banner that is versatile enough for different flag configurations. Here, I've slanted the sentiment strips on a diagonal, and tilted the flags on each end to coordinate with the slant! I can't wait to play with the other configurations, and I hope you all like these dies as much as I do! I paired them with several of the sentiments from the previously released All About You Stamp Set. I've listed and linked all of the MFT Products that I used below. Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other fabulous projects created by my teammates, as well as some of MFT's friends!! Hello there and happy DieCember to you! Yes, it is that time of year again where Simon Says Stamp celebrate all things dies and die cutting. There will be fun things happening throughout the month but today sees the main DieCember release. For my cards today, I am using the new Privet Branch Die. PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure. I started off my cards by getting inky. I took sheets of Tim Holtz Woodgrain Distress Cardstock and placed them in my Splat Box. I then sprayed them with lots of different Distress Spray Stains. I will be honest with you, I was playing about so I am not 100% sure of the combination but these panels did use Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet, Villainous Potion, Mermaid Lagoon and Chipped Sapphire. I also spritzed them with Sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spritz before setting them aside to dry. Whilst they were drying, I die cut the new Simon Says Stamp Privet Branch Die multiple times from white cardstock with double-sided adhesive sheet on the back. For the first card, I die cut one of the inked panels using a Hero Arts Nesting Circle Infinity Die. I also used a larger die to emboss this on to an A2 white card base. The inked panel was added on top with tape runner. I then added on one layer of the Privet Branch on top, followed by another two layers, so that it was three layers high. I added on two Simon Says Stamp Reverse Sentiment Strips Birthday sentiments on top (cut using the Simon Says Stamp Sentiment Labels Dies) with foam tape. To finish off, I added Little Things from Lucy's Cards Bubbles. For my next card, I die cut one of the inked panels with the Simon Says Stamp Privet Branch Die. I also cut it another three times from white cardstock with the adhesive sheet on the back. They were layered up on to a white A2 card base and the excess cut off the top. I die cut another two Simon Says Stamp Reverse Sentiment Strips Birthday sentiments and added them on with foam tape. To finish off, I added a few Bubbles. SUPPLIES: Here are the links to what I have used on the project. Affiliate links are used on some products. This means that if you make a purchase after clicking on my link, I receive a small commission with no extra cost to you. I truly appreciate your support when using these links. I think this die is so pretty and can be used for so many occasions and designs. Thank you so much for stopping by today, I really do appreciate it (apologies for all the posts!). I hope you will check out the rest of the release. Have a wonderful day!
Hi everyone, sharing the cards I made using the All Together 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Pack. I used the entire paper pack making 95 cards. This took be about 72 hours which includes finding the sketches I used and also working out some cards that I designed myself to use up the smaller pieces of patterned paper. Sometimes deciding what to do takes up the most time, lol. This is what 95 cards look like, they are in piles where the cards are the same. To make it a bit easier for myself I decided to use a colour scheme of Gray Granite, Basic Black and Basic White. I also kept the stamp sets, dies and punches the same through out the cards. The stamp sets I used are Biggest Wish, Art Gallery, Daisy Lane, Celebrating You and Peaceful Moments. The dies and punches I used are Painted Label Dies, Penned Flowers Dies, Layering Circle Dies, Floral Gallery Dies, Stitched Stars Dies, Basic Border Dies, Bough Punch, Medium Daisy Punch and Banners Pick a Punch. The first 6 cards are mini slimline cards. I really enjoyed making these sized cards and they were great to use the small strips and pieces of patterned paper. Where the patterned paper was showing I used small off cuts, no need to worry about putting patterned paper where it was going to be covered up. A great way to use up the small pieces of paper. The first two cards are my designs. I made two each of these cards, just changing out the patterned paper to get the best use out of the remaining strips and small pieces. For this next card I used Mojo Monday Sketch #275. I just left out the strip that was going across the card and I used a rectangle instead of a square on one of the pieces. I made two of these cards This next card also uses a Mojo Monday Sketch, #552. I made two of these cards. These next two card layouts I cased off Call Me Crafty Al who does a Sheetload of Cards each month. I have become addicted to watching her on Youtube. This is where I first came across the mini slimline cards. I made two of this design and I made 4 of this design. This next card uses Sketch CCMC685 from Create with Connie and Mary. I cased this card from Loritamariecrafts. I few small changes but the bulk of the card design I cased. There is nothing wrong with getting a little inspirational help along the way, right! I made six of these cards. This next card just came together when I was playing around with some small strips of patterned paper. I made 4 of these cards. This card is a great masculine card. It uses Mojo Monday Sketch #406. I made 4 of these cards. I must really like Mojo Monday sketches, lol. This card uses Mojo Monday Sketch #491. I made two of these cards. I made four of the next card using Freshly Made Sketches #207. This card layout is great to use up the small strips and pieces of patterned paper. I am sure that there is a card sketch owner out there somewhere who designed this one, but it came together when I was playing around with how to get the best out of a 6" x 6" piece of patterned paper. I made 4 of this card design. Same design just different embellishments and finishes. I made four of this card. I think that this next card sketch is from Just Add Ink. I have used this sketch before but could not find a reference to where I found it. I know that I did not desing the card sketch, but how I used the sketch is my creation. I made 4 of these cards. Again I am sure that there is a card sketch out there somewhere but I put this one together trying to use up the small pieces I had left. This was actually my third last card I made. I made two of these cards. I made three of this card design using the Mojo Monday Sketch #440. Using the same Mojo Monday Sketch #440 I made six of the next card. This next card uses a card sketch from My Favourite Things #261. I made two of these cards. Another card sketch cased from Call Me Crafty Al. I know that this next card sketch is a Mojo Monday Sketch but I forgot to write the number down and now I cannot find it. I made two of these cards. Same sketch as above, just a different colour way. I made two of these cards. This one is totally my design, created using up all the small left over pieces. I only made one of this card. The next three cards are made using the Cut and Shuffle technique. I made six cards in total, two of each colour design. I am pretty sure that I originally found this idea on Call Me Crafty Al Youtube channel. Another Call Me Crafty Al design. I made two of these cards. I made three of the next card using the Create with Connie and Mary Sketch CCMC709. This card sketch is a great way to use 3" x 2" pieces of patterned paper. I have no idea who created this card sketch. I have seen a lot of cards on Pinterest with this layout but no reference to where it originated from. So if it is your design, thank you so much as I just love it. Great for masculine cards.I made six cards this colour way and four cards this colour way. I am getting down to the last little bits of patterned paper with this card. This is the second last card I made using 1" squares of patterned paper. I made three of these cards, all with different patterns on the paper. This is my last card design, I made two of these cards. And this is the small pile of pattern paper pieces I had left. They were so small I could not do anything with them. I hope you enjoyed all thes cards made using the All Together 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper. Thank you for visiting. I have 2 cards today, using the same cover die. I had the idea to stamp various sizes of circles behind each flower and leaf before raising the die above the card front. supplies: white and black cardstock, Hero Arts Flower Garden fancy die, Simon Lots of Dots clear stamp set, Altenew mini inks, sentiment from Simon Sketched Flowers, sequins to match circles, adhesive foam strips to lift panel Using my die-cut garden to help me with the placement, I stamped various sizes of circles/dots. Then I carefully popped the white die-cut above the card and added some sequins to match the dots behind each flower. The placement isn't perfect, but I'm really pleased with how this one came out, and I plan to try this technique with some of my other cover dies. Below is a simpler version, using the same ink colors in the same positions as above, but just simply coloring the flowers, butterflies, and leaves using the inks diluted with water, and then gluing the diecut down to a white card base. I added some dewdrops to the centers this time for a subtle sparkle, and an old favorite sentiment from Hero Arts. supplies: white card, Bristol Paper, Hero Arts Flower Garden fancy die, painted in Altenew mini inks and water, Hero Arts Flowers Say Hello, from 2002, Simon Stitched Circle die, dew drops for centers of flowers Thanks for stopping by - wishing you a GREAT weekend!
It's the last day of My Favorite Things June Release Countdown! All new goodies will go on sale tomorrow, June 7th at 10PM EST in the MFT Store! Are you ready with your wish lists in hand? Today I'm sharing a gorgeous background stamp--Bundles of Blossoms-- and the Grateful for You stamp set that comes with a coordinating word die. After white embossing the background stamp on watercolor card stock, I used MFT's dye inks and a waterbrush and did some quick watercoloring. I cut the panel with the rectangle element from Blueprints 24 and adhered it to a Stone Gray card base that was stamped with Whimsical Woodgrain. I die cut "grateful" twice from watercolor card stock, stacked and glued them together to form a thicker sentiment. The second part of the sentiment was white embossed on watercolor card stock and painted over with Razzle Berry dye ink to match the background, then trimmed into a banner. I adhered everything to the panel and finished off the card with my favorite Sparkling Clear sequins. Stop by today's countdown post at My Favorite Things for more inspiration from the design team. And leave a comment for a chance to win a $75 voucher to the MFT Store. Hope to see you tomorrow for the New Product Launch! InLinkz.com

Hello Ai fans! Today I'm sharing an image called Yoga Yolanda! Each year at Makena's dance studio I make the cards for the competitive dance team to give to the teachers. This card went to Syndey who teaches a core/strength/stretching class. 4209 – Yoga Yolanda Set The teacher is a young, very fit woman so she doesn't exactly resemble Yolanda in looks but they share the same fondness for junk food! Here you can see a little better that she's on a clear acetate background. I just thought that would be fun. LinkDeli.com Copics used: BG01, YG61, R22, C0, T1, E00, E02, E57, E93, E97 TriArt: R-11

I like the idea of a post at the end of each year showing my favorites. We're having some light snow to add to what we got just after Christmas here - a perfect day to be retrospective! This has been a banner year for me; being published for the first time in January's Paper Crafts has given me the confidence to try again, and every once in awhile, I get another one - so thrilling! Look for upcoming cards in Create Stamping in February, CARDS in February and March, CardMaker in March, and Paper Crafts in the March/April issue. I know we all have some. Paper that we love. We look at it, admire it, consider the possibilities. In my case, I pet it (it is flocked - I am not THAT strange!). I thought about using it, but I just couldn't. Well, Nancy from Stamp Tramps challenged me to put on my big girl panties and stop hoarding that beautiful paper. Deep breath. I adapted Seongsook Duncan's 12 x 12 One Sheet Wonder template and cut it into pieces. I mean, how could I possibly waste any of that beautiful paper?!? My Minds Eye Lush paper and coordinating brads in orange. Here are my cards: Hmmm. I have another piece of flocked paper from the same collection. Maybe someday... Thank for the nudge, Nancy! And thank you for the fun stamps and papers!

Hello, again!! I’m playing along with this week’s My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge! It’s a super fun sketch, and I had a great time creating with it! This is actually a different version of another project that I created for the My Favorite Things Retreat that I was fortunate enough to teach at last month! I actually ran out of time to share this project with the students, but I revised the original a bit to fit this week’s sketch! Here’s how I created it: Trim an A2, vertical, top-folding card base from Smooth White Card Stock. Score at 5.5”, fold in half, and perfect the crease with a Teflon Bone Folder. Mask off the top and bottom of the card base with a low-tack masking material (I used 2” Post-It Tape from my stash) and blend some Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Inks, overlapping them slightly to create a rainbow effect. Carefully remove the masking tape. Die cut an image panel from Smooth White Card Stock using the rectangle die from the Blueprints 16 Die-Namics. Using a Mini MISTI, stamp the butterfly image from the Beautiful Butterflies Stamp Set onto the card base using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink. Without removing the butterfly stamp, remove the card base, and stamp the butterfly onto the image panel in the exact same position as on the card base. Repeat this process a second time with another butterfly image, first on the card base, and then again on the image panel. Stamp the sentiment from the You Give Me Butterflies Stamp Set onto the image panel, in the lower left hand corner. Dry emboss the butterfly image using the coordinating Beautiful Butterflies Die-Namics and an Embossing Pad with a manual die cutting machine, both on the image panel, as well as on the card base. Using the Stitched Basic Edges 2 Die-Namics, die cut the bottom portion of the image panel; using the Stitched Scallop Basic Edges Die-Namics, die cut the upper portion of the image panel. Adhere the upper and lower portions of the image panel to the card base using foam squares, making sure to align the embossed image on the bottom. Adhere some black enamel dots. This is a really fun technique that adds some great dimension and interest to a super fun sketch! I’ve listed and linked all of the products that I used below. Please click on through to the MFT Challenge Blog to be linked to the other projects that the rest of the team created using this week’s Wednesday Sketch Challenge! And while you’re there, be sure and link up your own take on this week’s sketch because we’d love to see how it inspires you! You’ll have the chance to win a $50 Gift Certificate from My Favorite Things – BONUS!! That’s it for me today, friends! I bought a couple of bunches of roses for my Mum last Wednesday at the farmer's market at work (you can see a photo of them that I posted on Instagram HERE.) I wanted to make a card based on those colours, so I pulled out the My Favorite Things "Roses all over" background stamp, and this is what I came up with. I cut the stitched curve with a die from Lawn Fawn. The sentiment is from "Quite like you" by Wplus9. I'm playing along with two challenges today - My Favorite Things "Card Design Superstar", and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge Stamptember blog hop - Stamp it. Thanks for visiting :)
