Caroline Strawson on Instagram: "Narcissistic abuse can cause you to feel more hyper-sensitive to sound as it activates your nervous system - it's all linked to your vagus nerve.🧠👂 When we experience things such as being in a relationship with a narcissist, how we perceive voices gets altered. The ear sends uptight and heightened messages to our nervous system which in turn reacts to the situation disproportionately.🧠 We can end up reading situations as far more threatening than they are. Our interactions with people and feelings of well-being and safety are negatively affected. Mental health with Omoye on Instagram: "Emotional draining in a relationship isn't always loud or confrontational; it can be subtle yet equally exhausting. A partner's consistent lack of communication, trust, empathy, or willingness to apologize creates a void that leaves the other person feeling unheard and unvalued. Neglecting to acknowledge efforts, ignoring emotional needs, or dismissing a love language erodes the foundation of connection and intimacy. Over time, these quiet forms of neglect can weigh as heavily on a person as constant arguments, leading to emotional burnout and a sense of isolation within the relationship. #mentalhealthawareness"
