Wedding? Barf. I’ve got to admit that I am a sort of wedding hater. I mean, if a friend or loved one is getting married, of course I’m happy for them and I will happily go…
Looking for a perfect winter red polish? I cordially invite you to visit this classic shade, Bordeaux from Essie. :) This rich & posh red color is one of my favorite reds of all time. I think it looks best on short-trimmed nails. The color is deep but never looking stuffy thanks to the slight jelly finish. It looks deep and pure. The color changes under different lighting. I am wearing 2 coats of this with Duri base coat & Seche Vite fast drying topcoat. My bottle is very old and came from the pre-Big 3 free era, so the application is fantastic, if you know what I mean. ;) This sure beats the winter blues for me. I highly recommend this sophisticated shade to anyone. It is not the usual in-your-face red but certainly a wowzer. :)

*press sample Hello lovelies! Today's post is a review of the limited edition Essie Gel Couture Wedding collection by Reem Acra. If you didn't know, Reem Acra is a bridal designer and she's teamed up with Essie to create these six shades. While there are a couple shades I like, I feel like the majority of them are very "mature" looking and the formulas aren't the best. That's my opinion though! Let's take a look.. Moments to Mrs is a sheer orchid mauve jelly filled with iridescent flakes. I like the squishiness of this shade and the flakes are quite pretty too. Shown is three coats plus top coat. Handmade of Honor is a light blush metallic. This applied easily with good coverage, but was typically brush stroke-y. Shown is two coats plus top coat. Forever Family is a pearly mulberry red. The shade is quite lovely but the pearly finish ages it for me. Shown is two coats plus top coat. You're Golden is a yellow gold foil. This is way more yellow than the gold foil shade from the Enchanted Gel Couture collection (here). Shown is two coats plus top coat. Getting Intricate is an eggshell blue creme. This one didn't come out quite color accurate- it's a little more dusty than this. It had a kind of funky smell but at least it had a smooth formula. Shown is two coats plus top coat. Picture Perfect is a sheer milky white crelly with golden shimmer. This shade is super pretty and probably my favorite from the collection. I did have some issues with the formula as far as getting it to apply evenly. Shown is three coats plus top coat. The Gel Couture Wedding collection is available online and in retail stores. Each polish retails for $11.50.
