Today’s fast-paced and mechanical lifestyle makes us weary and depletes our energy completely. We feel totally drained and dream of an escape from our daily grind. Our body and soul demands restoration and seclusion. We wish to lose our sense of time and slow down our pace of life. We desire a place with solitude, tranquility, and peace — a cabin overlooking the mountains, a small hut beside a river, or just somewhere in the middle of nowhere.

After coming home from Hawaii changing my suitcase once again and stepped in my car and drove to southern Germany, visiting friends and shooting fall colours and castles. Hewn from stone, the temple spire awaits my approach, making my chest rattle with thunder. This is Hallgrímskirkja, a church in downtown Reykjavik, Iceland.
