I guess I’ve always been into Interior design and have often thought about retraining as an interior designer. I remember my Mum giving me full reign of my bedroom when I was a teenager and I went with a hideous yellow and blue Moon, Sun and Star theme with a border running through the middle…

Good Day Crafty Friends, Welcome to the Artisan Design Team Blog Hop for February. You are currently visiting Jackie Aitken in Perth, Western Australia. This month the talented Artisan Design Team are showcasing the Well Written & Dear Doily Bundles. I may have let out a little squeal of delight when I unboxed the Dear Doily Bundle. I do love doily's on paper crafting projects and the detail in the four doily shaped thinlits are super gorgeous. I have created two cards and a banner to share with you today. All three projects feature die cut words made using the Well Written Framelit Dies. Seriously, the Well Written Bundle has every occasion covered and in my opinion a must have staple for all papercrafters and memory keepers. Both cards have the same basic layout - a whisper white card front cut diagonally with a panel of the Floral Romance Specialty Designer Series Paper underneath and both feature hints of gold with gold embossed foil and gold foil die cuts. The die cut words on both cards have been stacked, with each word die cut four times from whisper white card and then a fifth time from either gold foil as in the case of the pink card or gold glimmer card stock shown on the fig/green coloured card. Doily Card The gorgeous lace detail in the Floral Romance Specialty DSP and soft pink tones in the ribbon are so subtle I didn't want to add anything too bold so kept most components white with hints of gold. A Whisper White Doily has been tucked in behind the diagonal card front (over the DSP) then, the two long stemmed foliage images has been stamped in Petal Pink and Sahara Sand and die cut using the coordinating dies. Gold Frame Card Again, using some of the Floral Romance Specialty DSP, this time a piece with a botanical pattern, no an overly bold and fussy pattern due to it being Vellum. The Gold Foil frame has been created using the Rectangle Stitched Framelit Dies which then embossed using the Lace Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder which can be found on Page 11 of the Occasions catalogue along with the Floral Romance Specialty DSP and the Petal Pink/Whisper White Variegated Ribbon. 3D Flowers The 3D flower on the Gold Frame card and those dotted around the wreath on the banner have been created with the large Doily thinlit. Die cut the largest Doily from coloured card stock. Using a pair of scissors, snip away the outer edge of the die cut, leaving a smaller shaped doily that can be used on another project. Take the outer edge of the die cut and using a pair of snips, cut directly through the one side. Using a pair of tweezers, grab one end of the die cut and roll, approx 3/4 way through I like to start bending the edges out slightly with my thumb. Glue ends with strong adhesive. The banner has six of these 3D flowers that were created from Petal Pink and Fresh Fig Cardstock. The happy birthday die cuts have also been "stacked". I have die cut both words five times from whisper white card stock and gold glimmer card stock, stacking the later on top. I like to use Multi Purpose Liquid Glue to stack these word die cuts but you can use Multi Purpose Adhesive Sheets if you are not a fan of liquid glue. Supplies: Dear Doily Stamp Set, Doily Builder Framelits, Well Written Framelits, Petal Pink/Whisper White Variegated Ribbon, Petal Pink & Fresh Fig Card Stock, Gold Foil & Gold Glimmer Card Stock, Stampin' Up Ink Pads. To create the banner I have used a piece of 12' x 12" Card that comes inside the DSP Packs, covered it with Whisper White Card and then cut it down before adding the wood panel sheet from the Floral Romance Specialty DSP. The green foliage image has been stamped in Granny Apple Green and Lemon Lime Twist inks and die cut using the coordinating framelits. I have adhered the stamped images with Foam Strips as I really wanted a lot of dimension. Tip/Trick I like to add Multipurpose Liquid Glue on top of the Foam Strips (and dimensionals) as this gives me a little wriggle room to work and get the placement exactly where I want it. Also, when creating something circular like a wreath, lay all your stamped images out how you want your project to look and work on one stamped image at a time, trying not to bump things as you glue them down. Supplies: Dear Doily Stamp Set, Doily Builder Framelits, Well Written Framelits, Lace Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Floral Romance Specialty DSP, Petal Pink/Whisper White Variegated Ribbon, Petal Pink & Fresh Fig Card Stock, Gold Foil & Gold Glimmer Card Stock, Stampin' Up Ink Pads. That's all from me today. I hope the talented team of Artisans have inspired you with our creations. This past week, I let my friend read the first draft of my book. Why is it harder to let people you know and love read the personal stuff? I'd much rather let strangers read it! My friend Lindsey has been a best friend since I was eight. When I wrote the book, I wrote as if she was the only one re
