The artist known as Sainer may perhaps be better known for his work on gigantic murals with the Etam Cru. However, Sanier is able to prove his artistic credentials on a much smaller scale as well. For these pieces the artist trades his aerosol can for acrylic paint and a set of brushes. Still, Sanier's specific style comes through, whether on canvas or a wall. The artist's attention to the figure and its anatomy as well as a penchant for bright color rings through as familiar. Los Angeles based artist Soey Milk paints confident young women in boldly colored clothing inspired by the imagery of her Korean heritage. Featured here on our blog, her slightly amorous oil portraits are imbued with mystery and personal discovery. On October 1st at Hashimoto Contemporary in San Francisco, Milk explores her intimate world with a new series of paintings and drawings. In the tradition of previous exhibits, the series is titled in her native Korean "Pida (피다)", which translates to blossoming or becoming something else.
