Every time we go to Gatineau for some reason I'm compelled to take a photo of the Prime Minister of Canada's residence. This is 24 Sussex Drive in September 2012. I've taken many over the years now..they all look different and at different times of the year and with different cameras. Have a look ;) I like this one it's a little different..especially with the PEACE TOWER in the background of the house. Officially the tower is known as the Tower of Victory and Peace and it's the tower of Centre Block Parliament Building. This is the North-east façade of 24 Sussex Drive. "24 Sussex Drive is the official residence of the Prime Minister of Canada, located in the New Edinburgh neighborhood of Ottawa, Ontario. Built between 1866 and 1868 by Joseph Merrill Currier, it has been the home of almost every prime minister since Louis St. Laurent." "It is never called by the name it was given when it was built in 1866, Gorffwysfa. Instead, it's almost always referred to as 24 Sussex, an address familiar to Canadians though not nearly as famous as the White House or 10 Downing Street." Gorffwysfa is welsh for "a place of rest". (Architectural style Norman Revival) I think that Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his family should use them as cards to see the different seasons at 24 Sussex Drive don't you? ENJOY the different view! :) Have a great day everyone.
