Does anyone remember these? I remember being a kid and how awesome all the pop shoppe sodas were. Its great how certain objects bring back those nostalgic memories, like after a hockey game stopping to get one of these it just snowballs all your thoughts into others and thats what this image means to me. So the other day i was out at the end of town to get some Temagami Dry ginger ale and what do i see glowing this awesome green color in the cooler- Yup a classic Pop Shoppe Lime Ricky Soda, i knew i had to get one and bring it home with me for a photo. So that night i set up this shot i knew i had to get the lighting just right so i could make the Lime bottle glow, as well i wanted to pick out a background color that was complementary to the scene and tam suggested red, yup that worked perfect then i had to find something to put the bottle on that would also look old and fit in the scene so i had this old wooden crate thats vintage which i flipped upside down and put the drink on there --it worked perfect and the old crate just had that texture i was hoping for, so after that was set i fine tuned the lighting and the one thing i wanted to add was the cap from the bottle thats on the crate is held up by a thumbtack and i had to get the light oin that cap just right to make it stand out so this was what i did i grabbed a flashlight with a spot beam of light and focused it just on the cap so i could get the light speffic to where i needed it, if you look close at the cap you can see the hint of that bright flashlight creating a down shadow below the cap and as well a little glow on the crate, it was the smallest of things as in detail but it really to me makes the whole i image stand out and as a personal thing it always feels good when you can add in a detail like that with a flashlight and balance it in such a small area, i was glad it worked out. So this is my tribute to some classic memories and The Pop Shoppe ----now to go stock up on these guys Sb-800 1/20th power camera back right zoomed 105 Sb-800 1/32 power gelled red shooting at background zoomed 105) Dorcy 200 Lumes flashlight zoomed just at bottle cap from above just outside frame- Reflector front left Both flashes fired via nikon cls as i held the flashlight zoom just at the cap
