Photo date: August 21, 2019. Photographer: Mark Mahin. I took the photos below while photographing only ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling in front of a black featureless background. We see some orbs that all have two holes.

A shadow stripe is a type of stripe consisting of a thick band parallel to a thinner band. The grid below shows various mysterious orbs that I have photographed, each of which has a shadow stripe. To more clearly see the fine details of the shadow stripes, you can see the original photos here. Below is an example of a shadow stripe. A shadow stripe may have two thin bands and one thick band, or merely one thin band and one thick band.
The photo poster below is a composite of 40 orb photos previously published on this site. You can find all of the original photos by looking at my posts labeled "speeding air orb" between April 1, 2016 and December 8, 2016. These photos all show orbs that appear to be moving very fast. Open the photo in a separate browser tab to see the poster at its full resolution. No flying insects were observed by me during any of the days when these photos were taken. Some of the photos show undulating or sharp-turn motion of a type that neither insects nor birds nor dust particles ever make. If you look at the original photos, you will see that each of the anomalies was photographed well away from the edge of the photo. Given this fact and the fact that I have short hair, we cannot explain any of these photos as being a stray hair from the photographer, nor can any be explained as a photo of a camera strap. We also cannot explain these orbs as dust, as all of them seem to be showing very rapid motion. Indoor dust particles move at only about 2 miles per hour, and the outdoor wind speed was never more than 20 miles an hour when any of these photos were taken. But we see here objects that seem to be moving very fast, many times faster than 20 miles an hour. The photos were taken with cameras that have an effective shutter speed of about 1/1000 of a second (that's for a flash photo, and all of these are flash photos). All of the original photos were taken when the camera was held steady (with nothing other than the orb appearing to show motion). Under such conditions, an object must be moving very fast to appear like the items in the photos above. None of the photos showing orbs with "comet tails" can be explained as raindrops, as none of the outdoor photos were taken when there was any fog, mist, rain, or precipitation. One of the places that Spirit likes to show up is in photos. This is because the camera is able to capture things that most of us cannot see with our naked eye. Spirit orbs can appear in photos as balls of light, however sometimes it can be difficult to tell whether it is a […]

Photo date: July 25, 2015. Photographer: Mark Mahin. In this photo of a New York City tower top, we see a pink orb floating mysteriously, like some nymph of the sky. There was no fog, mist, rain, or precipitation on this night. The air quality listed on airnow.gov was "good." See this link for 39 other photos on this blog of pink orbs floating in the sky.

Photo Date: August 7, 2019. Photographer: Mark Mahin. I took the photos below while photographing only ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling in front of a black featureless background. The results on this day were rather monotonous, but astonishingly consistent. In almost all of more than 500 consecutive photos of falling water drops, I got orbs with a big hole in the bottom part of the orb. Below is only a tiny percentage of these photos. In the first we see holes only in the bottom part of orbs. In the next we also see holes only in the bottom part of orbs. In the next we also see holes only in the bottom part of orbs. Photo date: December 19, 2015. Photographer: Mark Mahin. The photos below was taken while photographing nothing but ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling against a dark featureless background. If you come to this blog often, you will know that the water drops I photograph have an eerie and preternatural tendency to appear very, very often in shockingly non-random and orderly ways, such as appearing to have faces, or appearing with stripes, or appearing in ring shapes. Below we see two different examples of this weirdness. Below what looks like two faces, we see a striped orb that seems to be speeding at a great speed, in a circle. Below it are some other strange striped orbs.

The grid below shows various orbs with face-like details that I photographed on July 10, 2019, while photographing only ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling against a black featureless background. On this day the same type of anomaly appeared in multiple consecutive photographs. See here for some related photos.

Photo date: April 6, 2020. Photographer: Mark Mahin. I took the photos below while photographing only ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling in front of a black featureless background. On this date (among other things) I got many orbs with a kind of bean-shaped hole or dark mark at their bottom. Below are some examples: The pattern briefly became more complex, with two features in each orb. It was almost like the pattern was on the verge of becoming a face-like pattern.

Photo date: January 10, 2019. Photographer: Mark Mahin. I took the photos below while photographing nothing but ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling against a dark background. In the first photo we see orbs with large holes. Sometimes I get holes like these gradually starting to appear in my photos. But today they appeared dramatically all of a sudden, as in the photo below. I got many such photos, until being interrupted by a junk phone call. When I came back to the camera, there were no more orb holes. See here for many similar photos I have taken. Note how all of the orb holes are on the bottom half of the orb.
The visual below concisely summarizes patterns I have classified in mysterious orbs I have photographed, and the number of times each pattern has occurred. Most of the examples can be conveniently seen in this post.

Photo date:October 2, 2015. Photographer: Mark Mahin. The photo below was taken while photographing ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling against a dark featureless background. Here we see two very strange streaks of light, one a vivid red color. It's hard for me to classify what this photo shows; the best I can do is to classify this an example I what call orb rays.
Below we some mysterious bright orbs that I photographed.
