Ideal for small spaces and nooks like your bedside; in front of your favourite sofa and in a child's room, this rug will provide year-round softness and warmth underfoot. The Badami mat is perfect for providing comfort while standing in front of your bathroom vanity, kitchen sink or work zone and the laundry. Or simply use it as a stylish doormat for your main entryway doors, french doors, sliding or bi-fold doors or for a short hallway. Designed to last the test of time, this natural jute mat has been handmade by fair trade artisans in a rural village community of Bangladesh. The women first plait long strands of jute, and then assemble the Badami pattern row by row, before stitching the pieces together using needle and thread. A genuine Fair Trade partnership ensures the women who make our Badami mats are paid fairly, provided with consistent work and safe working conditions, among a host of other benefits that are in keeping with the Ten Principles of Fair Trade. For tips on how to clean and maintain our jute rugs, read our journal post 'How To Clean and Maintain Jute Rugs'. Do not rub stains or spills from your mat as this may spread the stain and loosen the jute fibres. For oil-based or coloured spills, please consult a specialist rug cleaning professional.- For safety purposes, we recommend that you use non-slip rubber or felt matting underneath this rug.- You may choose a mat protection treatment prior to installing the rug in your space to prolong the life of your jute mat and minimise discolouration. Ok, we just spent the entire weekend painting the floors. We thought this would be a quicker process, but we forgot about the part where we are literally playing tetris with all of our furniture as we paint. That means we are shoving all of the dining room furniture into the kitchen when we paint that room & then vice versa as we moved along. It added a lot of time & work to shuffle around all of the furniture as we we went along, but at this point we have the dining room done & we are almost done

The Abbey sandstone tiles display soft putty tones, with a time worn finish that creates a smooth textured surface complimented with aged worn edges. This natural stone offers white through to ivory and beige hues, with a soft flowing movement and intricate details, with occasional copper flecks. These beautiful tiles are a dense and hardwearing option, perfect for internal and external applications. Please note, these tiles are uncalibrated and a slight variation of thickness between tiles is to be expected. Tiles should be graded prior to installation to achieve the best finish. It is a fact of life that buildings, as they age, inevitably fall apart. We Americans are not quite comfortable with this. We like everything to be shiny and new: we like all our buildings and our interior finishes to have the smooth sameness of youth. But the Japanese have developed a way of dealing with this.
