I hope you are inspired to check out my Fringes & Folded Paper Strips Layouts Virtual Class!
Here is the last layout from Paige's Pages 17 at Big Picture Classes! This layout features some of my favorite things: hand stitching with a chain link stitch, lots of flowers, and repetition of hearts, all popping off of a white cardstock background. I did use a Silhouette Cameo 3 to create the heart and stitching holes and included the cut file in the lesson, but since the shape is so simple it could easily be drawn by hand and the holes made with a piercer! Texture is made with white acrylic paint splatters, using dimensional adhesive between layers, and different types of materials like paper, stickers, metal charms, puffy stickers, chipboard stickers, rub-ons, embroidery thread, and more! Lots of different thicknesses going on to help the page pop! Find the start-to-finish process video and more tips & tricks over in Lesson 4 of Paige's Pages 17 at Big Picture Classes! :) SUPPLIES: WHIMSICAL: Floral Die Cuts, Stickers, Puffy Stickers, Chipboard Stickers, Sticker Book, Butterfly Charms, Tassel Paper Clips, Rub-Ons; white acrylic paint; Embroidery floss: DMC; white cardstock
Hello there! Let me introduce you to today’s guest designer! I’ve been a fan of Paige Evans for a LONG time and to say that she is talented is quite the understatement. I don’t even know how to describe her amazing style other than to say that I am literally WOWED and in awe every time she posts a new scrapbook page! I am drawn right in to all of the little touches and details. I am also so impressed with the way she uses her Silhouette Cameo and cut files. She really puts that machine to use and creates the most magical things!! Keep reading to be wowed yourself and to see first hand what a talented lady this cute gal is!! I love how she created so much dimension by die cutting the background and then placing paper behind it with foam adhesive. Also her hand stitched border is so fabulous as well!! Cut the flower file from white card stock and then back the layout with the “Lovely” paper from the Confetti collection, using dimensional adhesive. Watercolor over the flowers, matching the color of the paper underneath (although I added more yellow to the mix!). Next trace a […]
The holiday sales have begun at scrapbook.com! I was sent the Spellbinders Platinum Die Cutting Machine and Wafer Thin Metal Dies Bundle (all bundles are pretty much 50% off during the holidays - WOWEE!) and I created a pennant-shaped mini album using the Heritage collection by Maggie Holmes/Crate Paper to document our day in Honfleur, France. First, check out the process video so you can see how this mini album came together from start-to-finish: I began by die cutting the pennants from Heritage patterned papers - two of each size. I lightly adhered the pennants back-to-back and then machine stitched around each pennant using a Brother sewing machine with white Coats & Clark thread and a basic running stitch. Then I punched a hole through the top of each pennant to eventually slide onto a binder ring. For reinforcement and an extra pop of color, I punched 18 hole reinforcers using a Reinforce Hole Punch and glued them to the tops of each pennant, both front and back. Time for photos and embellishments! I tinkered with not using this tiniest 1st pennant because I couldn't think of what to add to it because it's so small, BUT!, there are lots of teeny tiny embellishments in the Heritage collection that were perfect sized! I should mention: before I began embellishing, I used the PixScan feature with my Silhouette Cameo 3 to have it cut out flowers, leaves, and icons from patterned papers AND I stuck some transparent stickers onto white cardstock and had the machine cut those out too to turn them into die cuts which saved HOURS of fussy cutting!! Reason enough alone to own a Silhouette Cameo 3, just sayin' :) So those blue and green leaves tucked on either side of the gold epoxy heart sticker and the flower on the right side were all cut out using the PixScan feature. I machine stitched white satin pico ribbon to the bottom. This 2nd tag has a ransom-style title made with the Thickers and clear alpha stickers from the sticker book backed with white cardstock and fussy cut. I machine stitched yellow flower ribbon from the stash to the back bottom edge. On the back side of the 2nd tag I layered a flower chipboard sticker, gold glitter butterfly embellishment, and sentiment from the sticker book backed with white cardstock and trimmed in two. The 3rd pennant is still a bit too small to start adding photos of reasonable size so I piled on the embellishments: a house sticker, gold wreath epoxy sticker, vellum wreath die cut, and butterfly. I added brown crocheted ribbon from my stash to the bottom edge. On the back of the 3rd tag I started adding journaling. I copied the text from our blog post re-cap of our day in Honfleur, France, pasted it into a new document, changed the font to Remington Noiseless at size 7, and then printed it out. I trimmed the journaling into strips and then trimmed them down further to fit the space of the pennant. At the bottom I added a leaf sticker trimmed in two and placed on either side of the hole reinforcer. 4th pennant: Yay, time for photos! I printed my photos at different sizes, mostly 2" square, using Picasa to create collages and got them printed at Costco. Here is the tutorial for how I do this. I wanted to add two photos of Jane so I backed the top photo with a floral paper from the 6x8 paper pad, added washi tape between the photos, and zigzag stitched over the tape to add additional stability. I created a tab trimmed from both ends of a label sticker to the right edge to help make flipping up the photo easier and added a round "XO" chipboard sticker on top. Die cuts and stickers were layered under the photo and I added a bird epoxy sticker as my little nod to Jane absolutely loving birds. On the back of the 4th pennant there is teal crocheted ribbon stitched across the top and a bunch of layered embellishments in the middle. The 5th pennant features a 2" square photo of macaroons - when in France! - layered over die cuts and stickers along with ribbon stitched to the bottom. You'll see a theme from here on out: it's all about the clusters and layers + ribbon! Using a single collection ensures everything will match and coordinate perfectly together. Again, I used the Heritage collection by Maggie Holmes/Crate Paper. The colors are so fitting for Honfleur! Here is the back of the 5th pennant. The 6th pennant features a purple door - swoon! Fittingly placed onto purple paper :) This ruler sticker was a fun find because the journaling talks about how the buildings were taxed based on width, not height, hence the super skinny, tall buildings everywhere. The 7th pennant features one of my favorite photos of the day - an iconic view of Honfleur. It's 3x4" so a bit larger so you can see it better. I strung a charm onto a "Remember" epoxy sticker so it dangles and creates an interactive element. I always, ALWAYS, have more photos that I want to include than can seemingly fit in my mini albums so pockets are a must. The Heritage collection has a package of cards & envelopes including this vellum pocket. I actually trimmed off a bit of the bottom and re-sewed it closed to make it a little shorter. I backed all of the photos with patterned papers just to spice them up and then tucked them into the pocket. I need to go back and add captions and maybe little stickers/embellishments to the photos. I dressed up the envelope with a butterfly sticker flanked with leaves. On the second-to-last pennant (so the 8th pennant), I layered lots of tags found throughout the collection and two 2x3" photos. Plus a few other little bits! On the back I added another favorite photo printed to 4" square and layered embellishment clusters on opposite corners. The last (9th) pennant includes a family photo and border of embellishments across the bottom. Here is another look at the six smallest pennants: The fronts of the 9 pennants: And the backs: I would guesstimate this album took about 10 hours to create over the course of a week and I enjoyed every minute of it! I am slowly but surely getting all of our travels documented. Thank you so much for stopping by and be sure to visit scrapbook.com for their daily holiday deals - especially the Spellbinders Platinum Die Cutting Machine and Wafer Thin Metal Dies Bundles which are hugely discounted! I guess there are only a handful of things I blog about. My life. My baby. My scrapbooking creations. Occasionally I'll throw in a random story or bit. Welcome to my simple world! Today I've got a couple more layouts to share that I made for my monthly American Crafts assignment. After making over 50 layouts this weekend for a client and work, I thought I'd be scrapped out to the max, but I found some mojo in a hidden corner deep within my bucket o' creativity. Or something like that :) THE GREATS Journaling says: Fox is so lucky to have three sets of living great-grandparents! And he's been able to meet all six of them before he was six months old. I'm so glad we have pictures of Fox with each one of them so he can always look back and see how much he was loved by all of his family. He's the Warner's 2nd, the Taylor's 1st, and the Evans's 4th great-grandchild. Tips: I was inspired by a card that had fabric stitched over squares of felt so it created a cool quilt-looking background. That's exactly what I did here! I measured pieces of felt a little bit larger than my photos, adhered them in a 3 x 2 grid on my background patterned paper, then stitched a pretty piece of colorful floral fabric on top. I actually stacked two pieces of felt under each picture for more dimension. I pulled on the fabric edges to fray them more. Then I dripped/flicked the background with two colors of blue mist. Next I adhered the photos in place. Then I hand cut lots of hearts from patterned papers and adhered them diagonally across the page. I sprinkled a few pearls and jewels around the hearts. I love that I can still use jewels and pearls and even pink on Fox pages :) Finally, I added a Thickers title, letter stickers on each photo to say the great's name, then journaled around the visible fabric edges with a black pen. Supplies: Patterned paper, chipboard letter stickers, paper letter stickers, pen, adhesive: American Crafts; Fabric: I don't know the brand, got it at Jo-Ann; Felt: The Kunin Group; Pearls: K & Company; Jewels: Doodlebug Design; Spray mist: Tattered Angels; Sewing machine: Brother; Thread: Coats & Clark; Paper cutter, scissors: Fiskars For this next layout, I was completely, utterly, 100%, and totally inspired by the June CARDS cover card created by Valerie Mangan. Ever since I laid eyes on this card when she submitted it for possible publication many months ago I became obsessed! Now I've finally been able to have a go at scraplifting it: EVANS PARTY OF 3 Journaling says: Sometimes when we're playing with Fox we'll look at him and then look at each other and say, "I can't believe we have a baby!" And he's not really even a baby anymore - he's going on 8 months! It's crazy that he started out smaller than a 1/5 of the size of the period at the end of this sentence. Now he's sitting and eating and growing up right before our eyes. Pretty soon he'll be big and grown up. Chris likes to make the comparison, "We are to Fox what our parents are to us - weird!" But every day we feel so blessed to have Fox as our son. He brings us so much joy and he's starting to reciprocate those feelings with smiles and laughs and wiggles. We're a party of 3! Tips: The TV was off while I made these layouts! Crazy talk! To create this layout first I cut a petal from a thick piece of chipboard and traced it onto dozens of patterned papers. I cut all the petals out then sewed around each edge. I placed the petals on my layout where I wanted them, took a picture with my camera to refer back to in case they got moved around, then I glued them onto my patterned paper background and lifted up the ends for dimension. I added one little photo to each of the three groupings of petals with foam squares. The title was made from Thickers, of course, and then I journaled at the top, right side, and bottom with a brown pen. This layout probably took the longest to make of any layout I've ever made in my life! But so worth it. Supplies: Patterned paper: 7 Gypsies (vintage background), Scenic Route Paper Co. (graph, notebook lined), American Crafts (all others); Chipboard letter stickers and number, adhesive, pen: American Crafts; Sewing machine: Brother; Thread: Coats & Clark; Paper cutter, scissors: Fiskars Now I'm off to put all my scrap crap away! What a mess!

I love creating MemoryDex cards! Here are 4 using Sugarplum Wishes to go into my perpetual tray. I purchased a mint wooden tray a few years ago and am filling it with cards made with all of my American Crafts scrapbook collections: Go the Scenic Route, Wonders, Bungalow Lane, Splendid, Garden Shoppe, Blooming Wild, and now Sugarplum Wishes! This is a continuation of my Pink Paislee MemoryDex (click on that link to see them all!) which coincidentally filled up completely with my last collection under the Pink Paislee brand called Bloom Street. For the first Sugarplum Wishes MemoryDex card I cut a section of the colorful trees Paper 10, poked holes around the trees, and backstitched with coordinating colors of DMC thread. I topped the trees and filled in gaps with Sugarplum Wishes Enamel Dots and PTE Enamel Dots. On the right edge I slid on three Paper Clips with Charms to finish. For the second Sugarplum Wishes MemoryDex card I used my Layered Poinsettia from the 25 Christmas Cut Files 2023 to make all the layers from pink and red patterned papers. I creased all the petals and then added French knots to the smallest piece. After gluing all the flowers together I placed it onto a blue snowflake card from the Boxed Cards. Some blue pom pom trim added to the top finishes up this MemDex card! For the third Sugarplum Wishes MemoryDex card I die cut my Front Porch from the 25 Christmas Cut Files 2023 from white cardstock, backed all the tiny sections with patterned paper scraps, then placed it on a green card from the Boxed Cards with tiny foam squares. I added white glitter cardstock as snowy hills at the bottom and punched the MemDex holes to finish! The fourth Sugarplum Wishes MemoryDex card is the one I made in bulk to swap at our Sugarplum Wishes Weekend event. I added fringed paper strips and pink pom pom trim on the front along with the logo. Then on the back I made a pocket to tuck in Ephemera Die Cuts with photos and journaling on them documenting Sugarplum Wishes. I embellished the tags and die cuts with Mini Puffy Stickers and pieces from the Sticker Book. I chose a few photos to print all about Sugarplum Wishes arriving, organizing it, photographing it, kitting it, and my December Daily album made with it, and wrote out my feelings about my first Christmas collection with American Crafts! I've added these 4 cards into my MemoryDex tray and it sits on top of a cabinet in my happy scrappy place! Let me know if you have any questions about any of these cards or MemoryDex in general! I also have a MemoryDex class available HERE! It's such a delight seeing this tray get more full with every new collection! Some Adventurous MemoryDex cards coming up next in about 7 months! SUPPLIES: Patterned papers, stickers, paper clips, die cuts, embellishments: SUGARPLUM WISHES; MemoryDex; white cardstock; Cut files: Front Porch and Layered Poinsettia from the 25 Christmas Cut Files 2023 by Paige Evans
Hello crafty friends! Amber Mitchell here on Paige's blog today to share with you how I created this fun chipboard journal using the beautiful Bloom Street collection and a handful of Paige's cut files! Cut files are a great way to embellish projects - I used Paige's cut files to decorate the covers of the four journals I created. Chipboard books have been a favorite project of mine to create for the past couple of years. I love how sturdy and long lasting they are! This book consists of four journals that can be removed, replaced, or refilled once the pages are full, so I needed to create a base that could withstand the test of time. That's why I decided to use chipboard for this project. The base of this project consists of three pieces of chipboard; the two covers measure 4.5x7.5" and the spine measures 1.5x7.5". I wrapped these pieces using papers from the Bloom Street Digital Collection. With the base wrapped, I moved on to the pages. I created four journals that consist of three pages each. To make these, I took three sheets of paper that measure 7x8", folded them in half along the 8" side, and stacked them. To add the journals to the base of the book, I used white elastic string. This will allow the journals to be removed from the base of the book itself for easy documenting and for new pages to be added if needed. To embellish the spine, I threaded a mixture of acrylic beads, handmade paper beads, and various charms (like the Bloom Street Flower Charms) from my stash onto each elastic thread before tying them around the spine of the book. For the first journal, I used the Layered Flower and Leaves cut file to create three flowers that I clustered together in the center of the cover. I further embellished these with digital floral and leaf die cuts from Bloom Street. To finish this cover, I used a Rolled Flower cut file to create three small flowers that tied everything together. For the second journal I used the Geometric Heart cut file. I backed it using various patterned papers from Bloom Street. I love how bright and colorful this is and how all of the patterns pop! I added a few Floral Die Cuts as well as a butterfly from the Layered Butterfly Stickers to finish this cover. For the third journal, I used one of my favorite cut files, which is the Half Flower cut file, as a statement piece. I backed it using a beautiful purple patterned paper from Bloom Street. Purple is one of my favorite colors so this journal cover makes me happy! I once again used Floral Die Cuts and a butterfly from the Layered Butterfly Stickers as embellishments. For the fourth and final journal, I created another cluster of flowers using another Layered Flower and Leaves cut file. I love the shape of this flower! I once again cut three, but for this journal cover, I placed them diagonally across the length of it. With all of my journals embellished, I slipped them into the album using the elastic string and moved onto the cover. Since the spine of this album is quite embellished and bright, I decided to keep the cover simple. I used the Wanderlust cut file and backed it using a light pink polka dot paper from Bloom Street. I love how this title is so simple yet stands out and catches the eye. And with that, this journal book is complete! Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today! I'll see you next time with another fun project! This blog post is sponsored by JOANN. I made a new layout using mostly my Pink Paislee Pick-Me-Up collection that I found in store and online at JOANN.com! First, here is a process video showing how to create this layout from start-to-finish: I began by tearing out the solid colored papers and a few white ones from the 12x12 Paper Pad and then used a multitude of Border Punches to make decorative strips of patterned paper. Next I sprayed each strip with water and then crinkled it up, flattened and squeezed it, and then opened it back up into a strip and let it dry. This makes the paper look like crepe paper and super textured! It's a fun technique, you definitely have to try it out :) Then I arranged the papers into rainbow order and starting at the bottom of a smooth White Cardstock background, I used a Sewing Machine to stitch each paper strip in place and worked my way up the page, leaving about 2" empty at the top. I adhered my photo on the top left corner and backed it with flowers from the Ephemera Die Cuts. Above the photo I created the title using the white mini Foam Thickers. To help draw more interest around the page I added more tone-on-tone die cuts here and there and popped them up with dimensional adhesive. I wrote the journaling with a pencil (I still need to go over it with a pen and make it permanent) at the top of the page in the white space. I hope this layout inspires you to check out the Pick-Me-Up collection in stores and online at JOANN.com and create a textured page with a bunch of border punches! SUPPLIES: PICK-ME-UP: 12x12 Paper Pad, Ephemera Die Cuts, Foam Thickers; White Cardstock; Border Punches; Sewing Machine
Last night I looked through all of my mini albums and instantly felt the desire to create another one - I HAD to, OR ELSE! :) Luckily I just designed a new Silhouette cut file called Envelope Gift Mini Album and I had already assembled the base for the picture I needed to include with the cut file design. No extra thinking required, simply add some photos, embellishments, and DONE! Okay, so maybe there was a bit more to it than that, but honestly from start-to-finish this took less than two hours! Check out the process video to see how to create this mini album from start-to-finish: I love how the mini album folds up to create a wallet-looking book, complete with a bow (included in the cut file!). You know me, I love to keep thread ends long for extra texture and whimsy! I trimmed a few of them back, but left most hanging. I used my brand new collection with Pink Paislee called Pick-Me-Up - creating with a single collection ensures everything will match perfectly! I slipped in a stamp and paperclip from Take Me Away... shhh!! The mini album comes with pockets for adding additional photos and what-nots - anything that can fit! At one point I thought I was finished but then I realized a few backsides of the panels were undecorated so I added a couple more stickers and die cuts and called it complete. Inside the envelope... I've added journaling spots topped with photos and die cuts and hand written thoughts. Another interactive element I added to an already interactive album is this accordion folded trio of photos! It's secured in place with the Take Me Away paperclip I mentioned earlier. All-in-all this was SO FUN to make! Fast, easy, and memories have been documented - win win all around! I hope you are inspired to check out my Envelope Gift Mini Album - like the title suggests it would also be a great way to give birthday gift cards, make mini albums to loved ones, and even create pocket letter exchanges! Thanks for visiting today, means so much to me!
Happy Saturday, friends! I'm back today to share another layout for my Using Older Supplies series I'm doing on my YouTube channel. This layout took a completely different turn than I imagined. Those flowers are made from a dark kraft piece of patterned paper from the Amy Tangerine Rise & Shine collection. I know...that doesn't seem possible. But it's true! I challenged myself to use it up, and I tried to use it as it was, but the color just wouldn't work with anything I wanted to do. So I chose to jazz it up with some paint and gelatos! I added this beautiful floral cut file over what I created with the paint & gelatos and made it work for what I like. I used bits and pieces from some older Simple Stories, more American Crafts sticker books (mostly Dear Lizzy) and some sequins from my stash. The background paper is also from Rise & Shine. Getting messy was the best part of making this page :) I used lots of white paint and then came in with a rainbow array of gelatos. I added lots of water to smudge the color around. You can see exactly how I did this in my process video down below. I added pop dots behind all the flowers and added some floral stickers here and there. I also threw in some tangled thread in various colors. This "lovely" wood veneer is from Freckled Fawn, and the alpha stickers are from Simple Stories. I love how the pops dots make the flowers look! I love the shadow effect here. All the sequins are from my stash. I didn't do much mixed media work on my background other than a little bit of white gesso brushed on around the flower edges and then lots of ink splatters. These Simple Stories butterflies were super bright, so to tone them down to match my background colors, I brush white gesso over them. An easy fix to soften anything! Here's one more close-up. I fussy cut these flowers from stickers from some Dear Lizzy sticker books. Always try and think outside the box when looking at your embellishments. You don't HAVE to use them as is. You can always cut them to make them work for you :) Here's my process video. It's interesting to see how this layout was made from start to finish...it was quite a journey! I hope you like it and get some fun ideas on what you can do with a piece of dark kraft paper :) Thanks so much for stopping by today!
I've created the next set of cards for my Pink Paislee MemoryDex using Truly Grateful! For this first card I used a layered heart cut file and cut out 9 concentric hearts from a rainbow of Truly Grateful patterned papers. I sewed around the edges with white thread for texture and contrast and then attached it onto a MemoryDex card base. To embellish I added the Truly Grateful logo and then a smattering of Floral Die Cuts, Epoxy Stickers, and a Wooden Button. When I got Truly Grateful in the mail back in June, one of the first things I did was have my Silhouette Cameo 3 cut out all of the leaves from Paper 10 using the PixScan feature (I have a tutorial within this process video). All of the leaves have been sitting in a little baggie just waiting for the perfect project. Enter MemoryDex card #2! I was able to add almost every single leaf in a wreath design and it makes my heart so happy seeing all of the colors together. I embellished with a "Love" wood veneer piece from the Mixed Embellishments glued in the center, a sprinkling of Puffy Stickers placed tone-on-tone, and a "blessed" Ephemera Die Cut. For the third MemoryDex card I die cut an envelope and stuffed it full of Journaling Spots. In the Mixed Embellishments is a round wood veneer piece with holes which I cross stitched through to complete the heart. On the Journaling Spots I wrote about Truly Grateful, when it released, photos of the collection, and a couple other things I want to remember like finding a few of my products in Target - a total surprise and surreal moment! Time to add these cards to My Pink Paislee MemoryDex! I need to take a new photo which includes these three new cards, but here is what all the previous cards look like and you can see them all up close and personal in this blog post. Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you are inspired to pick up Truly Grateful and create your very own MemoryDex! SUPPLIES: Truly Grateful; MemoryDex; Silhouette Cameo 3
new Paige Evans' Horizon Paper Line It's becoming a bit of a habit. When a new paper line is found in my hot little hands, I go for making this Paige Evans Card Album from her Silhouette Designs. This Card Album is not only unique in it's format and style. But it also holds a whole lotta photos. The pockets and envelope that come standard to the cut file are great holders of photos and journaling and memories. This little cut file album packs quite a bit of versatility for all the memories. Paige Evans' Horizon Collection is available at JoAnn Stores. You can find it online or in stores. For this project I used the Project Pad. It includes pattern paper. Solid colored paper. Cut-away pages. As well as a sticker page. This paper line can also be found at Scrapbook.com. All the pieces used here are linked below. Hope you will check those out. It happens quite often, as Easter comes around, I start to look back at last year's Easter photos. We celebrate this holiday in our home every year. The day starts with church. And then a big family dinner. These photos had not been documented yet. It was a real joy to take time to go a year back and get creative with these photos and words. Heck. That process always makes me happy! As I tell those who always with a sigh proclaim they are behind in their scrapbook goals: You are never behind. Just start where you are. See? That is just what I did with these images from a year ago. No worries that they are 'scrapped' a year later. The happiness these photos brought me right now is why we do this hobby in the first place. So why don't you grab that Horizon Paper Line. Print up stories that you may have forgotten about. And make pretty stuff right now. Happy Friday, friends! I'm back today to share another layout for the Paige Evans Design Team, and I used a lot of the Fancy Free collection to create it. I've been eyeing patterned paper 09 for a w
The start of my mini album making obsession actually began back in March when I was assigned to create a mini album for the Summer 2017 issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine! Up until that point I didn't particularly enjoy making mini albums... I don't have a reason why. But then, seeing amazing mini album after amazing mini album by my design team members inspired me to try and enjoy the process, and, as fate would have it, now I'm obsessed! Last summer we went on a cruise to the Greece islands and one day we stopped at Mykonos. It was everything I dreamed Greece would be and more! The buildings were stark white with the doors, shutters, and accents painted mostly bright blue and I also saw pops of pink, yellow, lime green, purple, and red. It made my color-loving heart so happy! I took so many pictures and a mini album fit the bill for sharing them. I made the album base from scratch – the finished or closed size is 5x7” so I trimmed my papers including the cover floral transparency paper to 10x7”. For more interest and to make turning the pages fun and whimsical I trimmed other pages to 10x5”, added a piece of vellum, and even die cut a 7” circle from patterned paper and an envelope from regular copy paper to hold more photos inside! Then I stacked all the papers and die cuts on top of each other and ran the pile through my sewing machine down the center. When folded in half, the pages became a book ready for photos and embellishing! This is the first time I ever made an album like this and it got pretty bulky pretty quickly, so to fix this I attached brads on the covers and wrapped baker's twine around them so the album stays shut. It’s a very chunky album which is something I am trying to embrace more and more these days! I usually try to make my pages flat to fit more pages into an album, but I also don’t want to put silly restrictions on myself whether in scrapbooking or mini album making so bring on the dimensional embellishments! Some more tips and tricks: I added a LOT of machine stitching to my pages for several reasons: as a replacement for adhesive, to add texture, to create pockets, and to attach more papers to create interactive flaps and additional pages. My sewing machine is my best friend! Well, one of them. I also really love my Silhouette Cameo (hence the reason I lugged them in my suitcase across the ocean!) :) More photos I couldn't fit anywhere in the album are stored in a couple pockets. They might not be featured but they'll never be forgotten since they're printed! I love having the threads sticking out everywhere, the paper clips with epoxy charms hanging off the edges that help make turning the pages easy breezy, and I even added a tab leftover from my December Daily®. I’m all about making it interactive and messy. In fact, some of the pages are pretty crooked from when I was sewing the album together in the beginning. And that’s okay! I’m only human and I embrace the madness! My favorite photos are full size - 5x7". I love the dramatic impact. Get more use out of your die cuts by cutting them in half and "framing" the photo. Sequins from my stash (that I swear never gets smaller!) make perfect little details and pops of color. My Take Me Away collection was perfect for so many reasons for this album - the colors, the theme, the sentiments - they all go so well with Mykonos! Here I found all the photos with pink/red flowers and bunched them together. In the centerfold of the album I added a bunch more colorful photos. Fox & Jane loved going on this adventure so I wanted to include them in this project. Inside one of the flaps I stitched a paper pocket and then asked them to color me something about the trip. Fox colored a dragon from a trip we took to Ljubljana, Slovenia a few years ago (silly Fox) and Jane colored something abstract. So they didn’t necessarily follow the assignment haha, but I still cherish their contribution and their artwork is now tucked inside the custom pocket. Think outsize the square-shaped box! When assembling your pages before stitching them together, cut circles, hearts, and more - they become such fun interactive pages! I wanted the photos to be the star of the show so I tried to keep embellishing to a minimum, but goodness knows on some pages I just couldn’t reign it in! In particular, this page that is made from a small scale floral paper. From another sheet of the same paper, I stitched a French knot through the center of every flower, fussy cut them all out, then adhered them on the matching flower on the mini album page. Labor of love, yes, but so worth the fun texture and design element! Other pages are very simple though with only a single photo or a single embellishment as the focal design element. Another photo pocket. There are even more photos I didn't edit and print... I take a lotta pics! I can't help it in places like this! Hand written journaling is important – I love seeing my parent’s and grandparent’s handwriting in letters and cards, so I did incorporate some of my own handwriting to describe what the album is about. I also typed and printed out journaling and then trimmed it into strips – I love the clean look of typed journaling and how where it’s placed becomes part of the overall design. Closing paragraph from my article: "I’d say about 99 out of 100 things I make are layouts so this was a really fun challenge for me to delve into the world of making mini albums! It’s quite addicting! Now I want to make a mini from everywhere we’ve visited! I might never finish, but hey, it’s a good goal to have and makes me feel inspired." I am happy to say that I have continued making mini albums because of this assignment so I am thankful to Megan and Susan for issuing this challenge! Be sure to download the free Summer 2017 issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine to see this album and so many other amazing creations! Happy Tuesday, friends! I'm here with a new layout for the Paige Evans Design Team using the new Whimsical collection. I have been eyeing all the beautiful scallops on Paper 23 and I decided to fussy cut them all out. My photo is of my daughter playing with her abacus and I was inspired by the shape and colors of all the little beads. I moved all the scallops around for a while trying to decide my design. I finally settled on putting the scallops in rows in rainbow order. I used white cardstock as my background and used clear gesso, Distress Oxides, and Shimmerz on the background to create a messy watercolor look. I also used some watered down white acrylic paint to add splatters and finished it off with some gold Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine. I arranged the scallops in rows and lightly glued them down. I added some texture and detail by machine stitching along each row. I was able to curl up the edges of the scallops to create fun dimension. I embellished with embellishments of matching colors. I fussy cut a few butterflies from Paper 06. I also used pieces from the Chipboard Stickers here as well as some of the Ephemera Die Cuts. I used a paper from the 6x6 Paper Pad as a layer behind my photo as well as some tissue paper and adhesive foam. I added heart stickers from the Sticker Book. The cute rainbow heart is from one of the 2x2 Paper Pads. I went simple with the title and used a Sticker Book sticker. I added a bit more texture and color by tucking in pink tangled thread on the sides of the photos. I used Rub-Ons in between some of the rows for small details. The Chipboard Stickers were perfect for adding tone-on-tone details. I highly recommend picking those up! I love that there are so many opportunities for rainbow layouts with this collection. And there are so many little bits and pieces that allow for lots of tone-on-tone embellishing. Here are a few more detailed close-ups... I hope this inspires you to do some fussy cutting with some of the Whimsical papers. Don’t be afraid to create your own designs with them! It’s so much fun to think outside the box! Here's my process video: Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hello again friends! Today I have a new Bloom Street layout to share for the Paige Evans Design Team. I had every intention of using only blue and green on this layout, but some pink eventually worked its way in. And that’s not a bad thing…haha. I used Paige’s Butterfly Background cut file, which is one of my favorites. I cut all kinds of butterflies from several blue and green Bloom Street papers, stacked them, and then stitched through them. I played around with them and finally decided on a vertical design. I had some matching photos, so once I had my arrangement set, I added Distress Oxides to the white cardstock background. I did add gesso first. I simply scraped the ink pads lightly onto the paper and then spritzed it with water to let the color spread and blend. To create even more butterflies, I used a butterfly stamp from the Acrylic Stamps. I distressed the edges of the butterflies with white acrylic paint and then bent the wings up once they were glued down. Butterflies are wonderful for creating dimension! I decided to add in some pops of pink, so I pulled out several flower stickers from the 4-Page Sticker Book. I also added in sequins from the Truly Grateful Mixed Embellishments. Perfect match! I went small with the title. I mixed a piece that I trimmed from the Ephemera Die Cuts with one of the Puffy Word Stickers. I added my journaling under that using a metallic gold pen. I also tucked in matching tangled thread for more texture. I created a small cluster on the left side using another butterfly stack and more flowers & leaf stems. I fussy cut this flower cluster from a Bloom Street tag from the Ephemera Die Cuts. I also used some of the Cardstock Stickers and sequins. I just love the effect of using the Distress Oxides. They always turn out beautifully, and they blend together so nicely. I added some gold splatters as well...Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine :) Here some more close-ups of all the textures and dimension :) Even though I didn’t stick to my original color scheme for this layout, I love how it turned out. I think the pops of pink are just what it needed! I hope this gets you in the Spring spirit and inspires you to use blue and green on your next layout! Have a great day!
It's the weekend...yay! Here's my newest layout for Hip Kit Club :) I used the 2020 January Hip Kits, and I am 100% in love with them! I don't think I have ever loved a Cardstock Kit more than this
Missy Whidden has outdone herself once again with this amazing mini album!! Hey, friends! Missy here to share a fun little mini album I created using Paige’s Mini Album Card with Pocket Envelope & Tags cut file! I’m usually intimidated at the thought of making a mini album, but this cut files makes it very simple. Once you have all the pieces cut, it’s just matter of adding in your photos and embellishments. I wanted to add a bit of mixed media flair to it, so I cut the base of the album using white cardstock and my Silhouette Cameo. I coated it with gesso first and then used some Distress Oxides to smudge on some color. I used lots of papers from the Oh My Heart collection to fill in the squares as well as coordinating embellishments. I decided to use photos of one of our trips of Las Vegas inside the album. The fun thing about this album is it’s basically made using one sheet of cardstock or paper. It folds up like an accordion and you can close it with some simple ribbon. I even used some chipboard on the inside, and it closes really easily. I used some Turn the Page Ribbon to tie it all together. I used Oh My Heart Chipboard Stickers, Thickers, and Puffy Stickers on the cover. I also splattered Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine. I love how this opens up and you can see everything at once. I printed very small photos to scatter around the album. I chose a variety of Oh My Heart patterned papers to back the photos with. I also cut a few small tags to tuck in the pocket section. I used bits and pieces from the Oh My Heart Sticker Book and the 30-page Paige Evans #StickerBook. My favorite part about this album is the fun fold out piece on the upper right side. I added even more photos as well as an Oh My Heart Chipboard Sticker. I even added some photos on the other sides of the fold out pieces. Another cool thing about this album is this fun little envelope! I tucked four small photos inside and attached it closed with a heart sticker. Isn’t that the cutest thing ever?! The gold clear phrase stickers from the 30-page #StickerBook were perfect for this. I love how they look over the patterned paper and the shine really reminds me of Vegas. I added lots of machine stitching to the album base as well. This was so much fun to create! Paige has really made it super easy to put an album together with her cut files! I hope this inspires you to create a mini album using the Mini Album Card with Pocket Envelope & Tags cut file. If I can do it, so can you! Thanks for stopping by! All the heart eyes for this rainbowy layout by design team member Missy Whidden! Hey, friends! Missy here, and I mixed and matched bits and pieces from all five of Paige’s collections (Fancy Free, Take Me Away, Oh My Heart, Turn the Page, Pick-Me-Up) for this layout! I wanted to create some sort of rainbow on my layout, so I cut several of Paige’s Scalloped Border Background cut file from white cardstock using a Silhouette Cameo. I sorted through all the papers from all collections and pulled out lots of colors. Most of the papers came from the Fancy Free 12x12 Paper Pad, the Oh My Heart 12x12 Paper Pad and 6x6 Paper Pad, the Turn the Page 6x6 Paper Pad, Take Me Away 6x6 Paper Pad, and the Pick-Me-Up 6x6 Paper Pad. I cut scalloped pieces from the patterned papers and glued them on top of the scallops. I added lots of ink sprays to the white cardstock background and then arranged the scalloped borders in rainbow order in layers above and below the photos. I machine stitched through each border using coordinating thread colors. I wanted the scallops to be imperfect and kind of wonky, so I was okay with them being a little crooked. I fussy cut some butterflies from the Turn the Page 6x6 Paper Pad and tucked them in coordinating rows. I also used lots of stickers from the 30-page Paige Evans #StickerBook. I mixed and matched the title, which I adhered right on top of the photos. I used “mom life” from the 30-page #StickerBook. I combined the Pick-Me-Up Mini Thickers and Chipboard Thickers to complete the title. I layered in several pieces on both sides of the photos including tangled thread along with more stickers and fussy cut butterflies. I added foam adhesive behind my photos to make them more dimensional. I hope this gives you some ideas on how to mix and match collections. It was fun to pick and choose all these fun colors to work with! Thanks for stopping in and have a great week! Hey everyone! A few weeks ago I created a mini album for a guest design spot with Cocoa Vanilla Studio and I've never received more requests to create a tutorial! As you wish :) For this album I documented our day in Vrange, Serbia and used my Truly Grateful collection with Pink Paislee. Here is the 32 minute tutorial, enjoy! I will write a tutorial below which is helpful for measurements and the scoring template then paired with the video tutorial you should be good to go! But let me know if you have any questions, I am happy to help. First, I trimmed a 12x12 piece of chipboard into three pieces: (2) 4.25" x 3.25" pieces and (1) 4.25" x 1.5" piece. The reasoning behind this measurement is I wanted my photos and papers to be 3x4" so I simply added .25" to the front and back covers. The middle section can be wider than 1.5", this is just the size I arbitrarily chose and it should be the same height as the covers. My paper trimmer wouldn't cut all the way through the chipboard so I had to finish the job with a craft knife. I chose the floral Paper 19 to wrap the chipboard pieces. To do this, I turned the paper over with the front side down and then used PVA liquid glue and a paintbrush to spread it over the middle piece. I added more glue to the next chipboard piece. TIP: In the bookbinding class I took at BYU 13 years ago (which is where I learned how to create coptic books and fabric covered chipboard books and haven't stopped making them since!) I learned that the spacing between the pieces of chipboard should be two widths of chipboard so I grabbed two scrap pieces, nudged them next to the first piece I glued down, placed a ruler across the top to keep everything straight, and then placed the next chipboard piece down. This is all much more clear in the video tutorial. I added glue to the last chipboard piece, moved my scrap chipboard spacers over to the left side, then placed the last chipboard piece down. I flipped the paper over to the front side and smoothed any crinkles out and rubbed the paper down with a teflon bone folder. I flipped the paper back over and used a tool that I made in my bookbinding class those 13 years ago and have used all this time for my projects: it's a piece of chipboard cut to 3/4" x 12". I used this selfmade tool to trim around all of the paper edges so there is a 3/4" border all around the chipboard pieces. Then I folded the paper edges over the chipboard edges and creased them against the chipboard. To miter the corners I folded them into a point and then trimmed the triangle with scissors at all four corners, parallel with the table. Again, the video tutorial makes this all make sense. I trimmed a piece of Paper 19 to 7.625" x 3.875" (7 5/8" x 3 7/8"), flipped it so the flower side is up, added PVA glue to it, then centered it on the exposed chipboard side, centered as best as I could. I smoothed everything down with the teflon bone folder and gently scored the creases with the point end of the bone folder. To add texture and interest I used a sewing machine and white thread to stitch around the edges with the longest running stitch my machine offers. I love how Amber adds charms through an eyelet in the spine of her albums so I grabbed a teal eyelet and Crop-A-Dile and attached it near the top of the spine, centered in the middle. Next comes the hidden accordion hinge which is how all of the papers and photos are attached into the book. I trimmed a piece of Paper 18 to 4.125" x 3.875" (4 1/8" 3 7/8") x and used the blue B-side. Here is an illustration of where I scored using a scoring board. Download the scoring template here. The top numbers are the measurements at which I scored, and the lower numbers are the space between each score line. The left and right sides by the blue lines are the ends which I folded up. The red lines are the "peaks" of the accordion folds and the green lines or "valleys" are the gaps between the "peaks". I creased the "peaks" lines down and then scrunched the paper up accordion style. I didn't have to fold along the valley lines because if you score hard enough (without tearing through the paper!) they will automatically fold when scrunching up the paper. I added super sticky and wide double-sided tape to the back which should all be flat if folded up correctly and then centered it on the center section of the book. You could call it good and start adhering photos and papers in place onto the "peaks", but, I wanted to be able to add more, so I used a pair of fine-tipped scissors and sliced through all six of the folded peaks, creating 12 hinges on which to adhere photos and papers. Time for photos and papers! I printed 12 photos to slightly smaller than 3x4" and trimmed them out leaving a white border to make them exactly 3x4" and adhered two of them back-to-back to create 6 photos. I placed super thin double sided tape on the back right side of each photo and then inserted it into every other hinge, pressing the hinge onto it to make sure it sticks. I trimmed 12 patterned papers from Truly Grateful into 3x4" and then machine stitched around the left, bottom, and right edges to create pockets. For a fun touch I used a 1/2" circle punch and punched a notch at the top of each pocket. Then I added super thin double sided tape on the back right side of each pocket and inserted it into the remaining hinges. Then I made six tags. I used an Avery tag with a little bit of the bottom trimmed off so it fits in the pocket as a template to cut six tags from more Truly Grateful papers, no repeats of paper anywhere. I punched 12 hole reinforcers with a Reinforce Hole Punch from scrap papers and used liquid glue to attach them to the front and back from every tag. As a finishing touch I machine stitched around the edges of every tag and inserted them into the 6 pockets. Time for embellishing!!! On the cover I used Thickers to make the title of "SERBIA" and then trimmed two different flower Cardstock Stickers in half. I placed dimensional adhesive on the backs of the flowers so they lift off the cover. Once the album was finished I quickly made a tassel charm using dangly things from my stash strung on a 1/2" binder ring clipped through the eyelet. Love the eclectic touch this adds. By having those .125" (1/8") valleys between every hinge I am able to add chunky embellishments to each page without worrying it'll be too thick to close. Every single sticker, die cut, and embellishment you'll see in the following photos (sans the tassel charm mentioned above) is from my Truly Grateful collection with Pink Paislee. We visited Vrange, Serbia in the fall of 2016 so the leaves were bright colors which matches perfectly with this collection! This album is all about the layering and clusters. Here are photos of each of the 13 spreads within this little handmade album. I always have more photos than space allows so I created a collage (you can watch a tutorial for how I create these collages on my YouTube) for this second-to-last 3x4" picture. I always like to end with a family photo! You might notice there isn't any journaling in the album. Never fear! That's what the 6 tags are for! I copied the recap from the blog post of Vrange, Serbia, pasted it into a new document, changed the size to 8 and font Remington Noiseless, printed it onto thick, smooth white cardstock, and then trimmed it into strips. I glued the journaling onto the tags and embellished with tiny stickers on the front and larger words from the Puffy Stickers on the back. Here are a few more detail shots: I hope this inspires you to create a paper covered chipboard mini album with a hidden accordion paper hinge binding! Once you make one, you'll want to makes tons in lots of different shapes and sizes! I made this entire album in two sittings - they come together that quickly! Let me know if you have any questions about anything if you aren't sure about something after watching the video :) Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day! Hello, hello! Kelly Daye here with a fun and colourful mini album for Paige’s Silhouette Design Team. Burano, Italy is a colorful little island a short boat ride from Venice. Of course I used Go the Scenic Route. The cover was made using Paige’s Doily Corner cut file cut from white cardstock. The doily was perfect for two reasons. First, Burano is famous for their hand made lace. The little doily in all the photos is a treasure I brought back for myself. Second, this cut file has two flat edges! Hello mini album! I offset the Doily Corner cut file in Silhouette Studio to create the front and back shape of the album. The pink cover is the B-side of Paper 20, the pretty butterfly design on the other side lines the inside of my mini. All the interior pages were cut in the same shape and stitched on my sewing machine. They’re held in place with a hidden accordion hinge. A method I learned from Paige. Watch Paige's video to learn how it’s done. One tassel I made and one is from the Bloom Street collection. Can you see the beautiful bird Charm? It’s one from a set of six Charms available in Go the Scenic Route. The first page was made by cutting the photo on my Silhouette mat using the same cut file as all the other pages. I used Archival Ink and the Acrylic Stamps to add, ‘Scenic Route’ on top of the photo. Then I topped this page off with florals from the Cardstock Stickers. Paper 15 is so lovely, I just added a couple of photos because I didn’t want to cover the birds. I loved being able to point to Burano on a map using Paper 5 and a tag from the Ephemera Die Cuts. I sewed on the word ROAM from the Puffy Word Stickers and used a tiny Enamel Dot to mark the spot. You’ve probably seen this view before, it’s so iconic. For sure I had to ‘Snap A Photo’. That's from the Puffy Phrase Thickers. The shaker, made with the B-sides of Paper 24 and Paper 6 was embellished with butterflies from the Ephemera Die Cut, an "Imagine" Cardstock Sticker, and a little logo I cut out of the packaging because it’s so pretty. Here I am at the Market! Paige’s Cityscape cut file reminded me of the tall houses in Burano. I cut them from bits of colorful Go the Scenic Route papers to make my own street. The background paper is a combo of two sheets from the 6x8 Paper Pad. The smaller prints are so perfect for mini albums. The next page, while it took 3 days to stitch, is my favorite. Inspired by Paige, I embroidered a floral paper from the 6x8 Paper Pad with DMC Floss. Since the flowers are quite small and delicate, I only used 4 strands of thread. All I added was the word ‘Love’ from the Puffy Phrase Thickers. On the opposite side is my guy, ‘relaxing’ in the shade while I shopped. The phrase is from the Puffy Word Stickers. A journaling tag from the Ephemera Die Cuts is tucked in behind the photo and topped off with bits of ribbon, string, and tulle from my stash. Last page! I made a journaling tag using Paige’s cute Stacked Suitcases cut file. It’s cut from navy cardstock and paper backed with bits of the collection. When I remove the suitcases (tag), there’s all the stuff I forgot to pack! All fussy cut from Paper 6. Goodness, there’s always something, ha! Fittingly, my back cover asks, “Where to next?” via the Puffy Phrase Thickers. My little vignette includes a flower bouquet from the Cardstock Stickers all built up on a tag from the Ephemera Die Cuts. Hope we can all begin to enjoy traveling again soon and that you enjoyed my Burano mini album! Here is what we were up to in January! I got my first samples of Bloom Street and made 8 layouts, a coptic book, and a mini album with what I was sent. LOTS more to come! Cafe Rio is our favorite. For Activity Days I taught the girls how to make these colorful butterflies. Knee deep in Creativation prep! We tried a new to us burger place called Bad Daddy's. I'd go back! I got bangs! For a day. Decided they're too high maintenance and now they're pinned back every day lol. Creativation 2020 was so amazing. I have a full recap coming tomorrow! Here's a little sneak peek. I am so bad with words. I speak through my art. But I just want to say that I love these ladies. Oh so much. They get me! They understand me to my core! Every time I'm with them I feel uplifted. Picking the kids up from school after Coding Club. I took a turn reading to Jane's class so I thought this book was appropriate. (Chris, my hubby, her daddy, is a dentist ;) Fox asked if we could go to the mall to get a Mrs. Field's cookie one Saturday, so we did. While there we ate lunch in the food court. The sunsets here never get old. Each one is unique and beautiful. Chris and I went on a fun date! We went to the range and then got some yummy Thai food. My mini album obsession continues! Chris sent me this photo. I love my cat and want to be her sometimes. ibid On the last day of January we went to Arby's for dinner. Fox has finally decided he likes the bun. My Bloom Street order came! LOL to this. When referencing the above photo hehehe. On the crafty front, I reached a fun milestone on Instagram! Thank you to each and every one of you for following along my crafty endeavors! So excited to be joining Scrapbook & Cards Today for another year not only as a Design Team member but also as the new Creative Editor! Hi there! Maija Männistö here to share a mini album perfect for your vacation photos! Using Truly Grateful, I created a suitcase full of happy colors and memories. The Suitcase Mini Album cut file is a fun album to assemble! It comes with the actual suitcase and all the little pieces you can add both the inside and the outside of the suitcase to maximize the cuteness! For my suitcase base I chose one of the individual patterned papers, Paper 19, that has the perfect patterns for this. For the outside I wanted to have the gorgeous floral pattern and for the inside the B-side was perfectly subtle. The polka dot paper form the 12x12 Paper Pad is a perfect match for the floral paper and the paper for the straps brings a fun pop of bright color to the suitcase! Once the suitcase is opened it reveals all the amazingness, starting with the pockets to put lots of photos in. I wanted to add stitching on the suitcase to create a more detailed look, perhaps even more realistic too. I used my sewing machine and gold thread to stitch through each of the paper pieces that go on the outside and the inside of the suitcase as well as the straps on the suitcase. On the inside there is an accordion folded piece with fun travel-themed shapes. I used the same paper to bring some of the gorgeous florals on the inside as well. To emphasize the shapes I backed them with papers from the 12x12 Paper Pad and added hand stitching on two of them. For the suitcase I used the sequins from the Mixed Embellishments to create a fun shaker pocket. I added photos in several places around the suitcase along with a bit of journaling. This vacation of ours in Ras al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, was mostly about sun, sea, and relaxation so no need for more journaling space. The pockets hold several photos, each packed with patterned papers from the 6x8 Paper Pad. For a little bit of extra things to look at I added some pieces from the 2x2 Paper Pads into the pockets. For embellishments I used the Ephemera Die Cuts and Floral Die Cuts to add several flowers and sunshiny details. The Cardstock Stickers also had the perfect pieces to add to the project as well as the Epoxy Stickers, adding different textures. Thank you so much for stopping by today, have a great day! Hello crafty friends! Amber Mitchell here on Paige's blog today to share with you a super fun mini album that I created following Paige's newest 4x4 Mini Album Virtual Class and her Splendid collection! I've never really made an album using a binder before. Years ago, I made a December Daily album using a 6 x 8 inch one, but I struggled with it and ever since, I've steered clear thinking that they weren't the type of project for me. After taking Paige's class however, I believe I have a newfound love for this style of mini album and I'm looking forward to making more in the future! To create the pages for this mini album, I followed the tips shared in Paige's virtual class. It was so fun putting these styled pages together and having a guide to follow took a lot of the stress of designing multiple pages out of the equation. I'm so thrilled with how each and every page turned out! One thing that I altered about this mini album was that I opted to use less pocket pages in mine. One of my favorite things about creating minis is putting pages together from paper, so, although I did add a few blank pocket pages to the back of my album to use for photos at a later date, most of my pages are just paper. By removing the pocket pages, I also removed a lot of photo space from my mini. To make up for this, I added pockets, envelopes, and flip ups to multiple pages throughout my album. These additions allow extra space for photos and mementos to be stored. The envelopes I used are from the Lace Envelopes & Cards from the Splendid collection. Along with the beautifully designed pages from Paige, I added a couple designs of my own to this mini. One of which is a fun tag page I created using Paper 22. The other two pages are half circle pages I created by cutting 4.25 inch circles in half and adhering them together back-to-back. To these pages I added small photo mats. I also used a few of Paige's cut files throughout this album. The first is the Stars Background Cut File. I love how whimsical this cut file is. I added it to a pocket page to protect the design and clipped it into the album so that it would lay across a floral paper. The next cut files I used are some of Paige's flower cut files. You can find these on her Etsy shop. I love using the Layered Flower and Leaves to create dimension on all of my projects and the Rolled Flowers are simply too fun not to use. To embellish this album, I used all of the fun pieces from the Splendid collection. On the cover I used one of the flowers from the Cross Stitch Kit and I love how it pops when layered up with pieces from the Floral Die Cuts! Throughout the album I added several of the Heart Paper Clips to later help hold photos or journaling cards into place. I also used the 2x2 Paper Pads to create some small photo mats and of course used a mix of all of the stickers to fill in any empty spaces. I also added, as finishing touches, some of the Flower Charms to the outer spine and some butterflies that I fussy cut from the 12x12 Paper Pad and the 6x8 Paper Pad to most of my pages. I'm so happy with how this mini album turned out and I would highly recommend Paige's virtual class to beginners like myself! Like I said previously, I can't wait to make more of these! Thanks so much for stopping by my post today! I'll see you next time with another fun project!
