Craig admires the stunning wrought iron spiral staircase... such a beautiful piece of architecture and botany! The Palm House in the palace park at Schönbrunn is the largest of its kind on the European continent. It houses dozens of Mediterranean, tropical and subtropical plants. Emperor Franz Joseph commissioned the construction of the Palm House in 1882. Architect Franz Segenschmid had his hands full: with a length of 111 meters, 2,500 square meters in area and 4,900 square meters of glass, it is the largest Palm House on the European continent. 45,000 glass panes were installed. The Palm House is divided into three pavilions and three climate zones, which are connected to each other by tunnel-like corridors. The tallest room exhibits plants from the Mediterranean region, the Canary Islands, South Africa, America and Australia. The northern room houses plants from China, Japan, the Himalayas and New Zealand. Tropical and subtropical plants grow in the third area. Plants on display in the Palm House include a 23 meter-tall palm and in spring/summer the largest water lily in the world (with a leaf diameter of 1.20 meters). Temperatures range between 8 and 17 degrees Celsius.

Be transported to the Mediterranean coast Rome Design's latest Palm Beach project – Nirvana! Built with simplicity in mind and a desire for elegance, Rome Design and Construct's latest Palm Beach project – Nirvana encompasses all of this and more! Located in one of the Gold Coast's most sought-after suburbs, this four-storey home's design was inspired by the luxurious Mediterranean coastline. Featuring a crisp white façade, soft neutral stone detailing and bright open spaces with touches of Palm Springs-influenced landscaping, this home will be one of Palm Beach's most iconic. Rome Design & Construct founder and Nirvana homeowners – Josh and Courtney set out to build their dream home, and Nirvana was the impressive result. Having spent some time living in the Mediterranean, they fell in love with the architecture and used this influence when designing the home. Their shared love of seamless, architecturally inviting high-end builds paired with sophisticated yet minimalistic interior styling and soft tonal palettes is evident throughout the home, with the couple selecting Uniqwa Collections pieces to perfectly complement this architectural masterpiece. Built to superior standards, this five-bedroom, three-bathroom bespoke haven showcases Rome Design's meticulous attention to detail through the use of curved walls, arched doorways, oversized circular windows, hand-crafted sandstone feature walls, travertine tiled floors and Venetian plaster throughout the bathrooms. From the moment you step inside the front gate, you are immediately transported to a state of nirvana - meaning heaven on earth. This is all thanks to the welcoming oversized palm tree, planter boxes filled with cactus trees, draping vines from rooftop gardens, curved external walls and a stone pathway that leads to a textured arched front doorway. The ground floor is home to an entertainer's paradise with the entire back wall of bi-fold doors opening up to create a seamless indoor-outdoor living space and a luxurious bar with neon lights instructing you to ‘come as you are’. From our vintage Atlantis Pot perfectly placed at the entrance, through to our Camps Bay Sofa range, Bonza Bay Occasional Chairs, munggur wood tables and stools positioned in the living area, each piece adds an element of warmth and texture, elevating the home's already luxurious feel. Check out our dedicated Latte Pole website - uniqwalattepoles.com Continuing outside to the alfresco area is our Sharman Dining Table, Malolo Pendant Lights, Tarkuli Stools, Fulani Coffee Table and Thala Planters, all working in unison to create a laidback coastal oasis. Making a sophisticated statement next to Courtney’s design must-have - a pool, is a handcrafted Latte Pole cabana with calming dappled light filtering through, creating the perfect Summer haven. Following the organically curved staircase upstairs you'll find the heart of the home on level one – an open planned kitchen surrounded by expansive main living spaces, bedrooms, bathrooms, and laundry area. Positioned along the oversized stone kitchen benchtop are our natural Sweni Bar chairs. Nestled around the corner of the staircase is Courtney's most-loved Uniqwa piece - our Teak Root Console Table. The rustic, raw and earthy tones are what she loves the most about this piece, allowing you to subliminally feel connected to the earth and mother nature. The formal dining space, beautifully framed by soft s-fold curtains, is made up of our Sharman Dining Table, Arniston Dining Chairs, Hamilton Dining Chairs, and our hand-woven Malolo Pendant lights – a beautiful textured addition bringing with them the feeling of organic earthiness. Stepping out from the living space, the spacious balcony and slimline BBQ area offers glimpses of the picturesque ocean and is complete with our Brunswick Bar Tables, Mossel Bay Barchairs, Insingizi Pot and Latte Poles. Seamless soft arches & curves continue to flow throughout the home and upstairs to the third level where the home office and primary retreat are found. Passing through the arched double doors, the primary retreat is perfectly secluded yet open and inviting, complete with a private balcony and dreamy oversized ensuite. The bedroom space is filled with warmth & texture with the inclusion of our Takke bedhead, Stomp Side Table, Tarkuli Side Tables, Induka Table Lamp, Primitive Floor Lamp and Sontana Lounge Chair. The Master Suite encompasses the entire third floor complete with a private balcony, expansive ensuite and office space. The attention to detail throughout the ensuite is second to none, with the textured Venetian rendered walls, soft arches and warm tones creating a calming atmosphere. Positioned with views opening out to nature, the dreamy, freestanding bath takes centre stage alongside our Akoni Resin Side Table. You can relax in the tub looking through the open bifold doors to the expansive hills of the Gold Coast hinterland. The hero space of this home and Josh’s design must-have is the rooftop terrace retreat, complete with a 10-person sauna. With ocean views north to Burleigh and south to Currumbin and hinterland views out to the west, the rooftop space is an idyllic spot to soak up the Gold Coast sunshine whilst relaxing on our full outdoor Cali Sofa shaded by our textured Rondarvel Umbrella. Breaking the mold of contemporary luxury, Rome Design has masterfully created the ultimate beachside home with Nirvana. We can't wait to see what Rome Design creates next.
