Why is it that I always come across the neatest things online while I'm supposed to be cleaning my house? Then I have to try whatever project or technique caught my interest and put off cleaning my house even longer....
A few folds, a couple of cuts and voila!, you have an awesome Spring Fold card. The "spring" refers to the bounciness created by the folds in the centre of the card, which also help it to stand up for display. A nice quick project that folds flat for postage and is relatively simple to make... it ticks all the boxes! 1. Start with a 12" x 6" piece of card stock. 2. Place the card stock horizontally on your score board and score at 3" and 6". Make small marks on either side at 9" with your scoring tool or a pencil. 3. Score diagonally from the 3" score line at the top of the card stock to the 9" mark at the bottom of the card stock. Score again from the 3" score line at the bottom of the card stock diagonally to the 9" mark at the top of the card stock. Refer to the template for correct placement. 4. On the right hand edge of the card stock, measure 3" down from the top right corner. This will be the centre of the card stock. Use a trimmer or craft knife and ruler to cut away each corner, starting at 9" mark and finishing at the 3" mark you just made. Refer to the template and the photos below. 5. Press the card in on both sides at the 6" score line. Valley fold along the 3" score line so that your card base sits up and resembles the photo below. 6. Time to decorate! You can add patterned paper to all the different sections of the card if you wish, but since the centre section stays folded up, I chose to add paper only to the ends. 7. Add an image and sentiment to finish. Make sure you get the orientation right before you adhere anything permanently. I almost ended up with a sideways tartlet! Stamps:

I've seen a few people do a post of their top 11 favorite projects and thought it would be fun to look back upon the last year. To be honest 2011 started out rough, but I couldn't be happier with how it is ending. This blog has grown so much, and so have I. More importantly, I have made some really wonderful new friendships. I look forward to 2012 and all it holds. Here are my favorite 11 projects from 2011, hope you enjoy! Oh, and they are in no particular order :o) You know I had to put the baby in there :o) Happy New Year's!

This week's colourQ challenge is beautiful!! I LOVE these colors together! Certainly Celery has always been my favorite green and Ruby Red is a great shade, although my ink pad has seen better days. The stamp set I used is . . . well, we'll call it "vintage" Stampin' Up! It's called Watercolor Minis and it is one of my favorites although I rarely use it. This is a simple. clean design that can easily be adapted to a variety of occasions and color palettes. Thanks for stopping by! Come back tomorrow for another card using this same color combo.

Hello crafty friends! Today I am sharing how to use up 6x6 patterned papers without creating any patterned paper scraps. A friend shared that this style of cardmaking can be referred to as a one sheet wonder. I'm not sure who originated the style, as I have seen many crafters refer to it, but please let me know if I should be crediting a specific crafter. Today I am sharing how to cut up a 6x6 piece of paper that will result in 2 of the exact same card. I am using cardstock to mat the patterned paper pieces which will create some cardstock scraps. In this blog post you can find a template for how to cut your paper as well as a sketch to show what should be done with those cuts. Of course feel free to mix it up to your own liking. This post and video is not sponsored but compensated affiliate links are used to support my blog and channel. Thank you! Please let me know if you find this helpful and would like to see more. It's a fun challenge and I love working with patterned paper!
