With my Instagram @guigurui I attempt to demonstrate that you don't need a professional camera to take a nice picture. With the use of a smartphone, one can take a beautiful picture that tells its own story. Many people don't like rain, but the puddles left behind can be more than magical.
These mind-warping illustrations show bizarre scenes from another universe. Warning: may make you question your concept of reality.

Conceptual artwork of parallel universes that may have formed along with our universe, or that form part of a hypothetical set of possible universes. These theories are collectively referred to as multiverses. Multiverse theories include the inflationary bubble theories where inflationary periods in the early universe produce universes with different physical laws. Another theory is the manyworlds interpretation of quantum theory. Yet another theory is the ensemble theory where different mathematical equations and physical laws apply. Versions of the anthropic principle state that life exists in our universe only because conditions allow life to exist. In other universes, life may not be possible. Quantum mechanics, though firmly tested, is so weird and anti-intuitive that famed physicist Richard Feynman once remarked, “I think I can safely say that nobody understands quantum mechanics.” Attempts to explain some of the bizarre consequences of quant…
Howard Wiseman of Griffith University in Australia led a team that has created a new, groundbreaking theory. The theory suggests that multiple other universes exist in the same space and time as our own, and even interact with one another on the quantum level, says IFL Science. Quantum Theory can be a very complicated idea […]
Do you think that there is a universe parallel to ours, where an alternative reality takes place without our knowing it? It's a concept that fascinates many of us and has been at the heart of many books and films, but how is it possible? Here are some of
The scientific possibility of parallel universes first arrived with Hugh Everett III’s Relative State Formulation in 1957. Not long after, Bryce Seligman DeWitt renamed Everett’s theory and introduced…

This should have gone before my last post, but I'm not going to worry about it. There are too many papers on my desk to worry about any kind of order in my life!! Occasionally I try to organize my desk. Occasionally the occasional organization project is actually successful. So we can't expect my blog to be that much more organized! Okay, here is the worksheet I had for my series and parallel class. Our lesson was to be able to tell the difference between the two (series has one path for the electricity to flow, whereas parallel has two or more paths). We went through multiple examples where the students had to show with their fingers how many paths there were. Once everyone had the correct number of fingers, I asked them if that made it series or parallel. We also had to be able to tell if the light bulbs would turn on. If one is broken, what happens to the others? If switch A is open, but switch B is closed, which light bulbs are on and which are off? Lots of fun. I like this kind of stuff because my mind loves puzzles.
