We were in the parking lot of Arches National Park when it happened. As we opened the door to the backseat a foul smell we hadn’t noticed while driving with the windows down whacked us in the face. It was 2016, our son was 8-months-old and we were only on day three of a month long road trip that started out with five straight days of camping. Keep reading on how Kim beats a diaper disaster while on the go!

Wow! Another year has flown by. It's the first year in a while that Sam and Kirsten did not add a baby to their family (but our sister-in-law/blogger, Kim and brother Ben added sweet baby Harrison). Let's celebrate all the 2019 gave us and cheers to the New Year!
I always joke that I will be blaming my kids' bad attitudes on teething until they are 7. It's my “excuse” every time one of my babies is crying or fussy. “Oh, they are probably teething." “Oh, they have a tooth coming in, you can see/feel it right there!” HA! Did you know that kids get two year molars?! YUP! That means you are not done with a teething child until TWO YEARS OLD! Every baby is different, but here are some tricks we use at our house to help ease this painful time.

My husband works in healthcare. Before the COVID-19 outbreak it was already difficult as a stay-at-home-mom to keep 3 young children busy on my own. Back then I could break up our days with outings and play-dates. For more than two weeks we have been in isolation in our home in Cincinnati, OH. In that time I have developed ways to maintain some element of ‘normal’ while introducing new activities to keep everyone entertained and sane.

This past week, Sam and I took the three girls to Florida to visit my sister, brother in law and their two girls. Here is what I learned about how to travel with kids!

Our little guy, Charlie, was the perfect candidate for "tubes" surgery. Just within a 9 month time frame he had had 6 ear infections, some being double ear infections and some just in one ear. Either way, it was hard on him (and ultimately on us)! No one wants to see their baby suffer. Every time Charlie got an ear infection, he would stop sleeping through the night, eating his normal diet, and wanting to play.

Parker, Parker, Parker, what a sweetie! I've photographed quite a few newborn babies, and each shoot tends to present new challenges. I've never had a studio, and to be honest it wasn't something I ever yearned for. I quite liked the relaxed nature of photographing babies wihtin their own homes, it means I can photograph all of their new treasures & bedrooms, the changes of clothes and anything else they require is on hand. That said it does also present some photographic challenges; space

When we gave birth to my son, the hospital had a cute photographer that would come around and take newborn photos. Obviously, with all of the Covid-19 precautions this was not going to happen. I decided to reach out to our girl Gracie (who does all the Parker Baby Co. photoshoots) and asked if she was comfortable taking newborn and family photos in our home. Thankfully she said yes!
