Using Dies as Windows to frame and feature Peeler patterns in polymer clay... veneer: Outlined Holes + Filled Outlined Holes shape: Long Pebble collection: Organics All of the veneers featured in the 'Windows on Pattern' Set were made with techniques I've developed using a peeler as a slicing tool for polymer clay. Many of them were made for The Cutting Edge, a peeler workshop I've been teaching with my partner Tracy Holmes since 2005. Our classic Cutting Edge Peeler and WIDE Peeler are perfect stand-alone tools to precisely slice and reveal patterns in canework, mica shift, mokume gane, and more. You can find both Peelers in The Cutting Edge Store, as well as the starter tutorials and templates that go with them. We created our Dies as companion tools for our book on silhouette dieforming, Relief Beyond Belief. They are specially designed for pushing flat sheets of polymer clay into three-dimensional hollow forms, but they're also useful as design tools. Each Die comes with its matching Cut-Out, and you can use either or both to frame or mask patterns, cut around or within sheets and shapes, make draped, domed, and dieformed beads, and design more complex veneers and finished pieces.
