Getting a good photo requires a lot of work — you need a cool idea, a professional photographer, a bunch of assistants, and a pile of props to get an impressive shot. However, all this stuff usually stays behind the scenes. American photographer, Geo Leon, is one of those who decided to show not only his final masterpieces, but the process of their creation as well. And you know what? You can use his ideas and take a memorable photo yourself right after reading this article.

About The Artwork Encolures – French for “neck” or “neckline” – focuses on the nape of the neck, an area of a woman’s body that is at once vulnerable and strong; exposed yet powerful; tender, sensual, and exquisitely feminine. It is the bridge between the logic of the mind and emotions of the heart, a conduit of energy and life blood. Most of these images show only the back of the neck, lending an air of mystery. When viewed from behind, a woman’s facial expression is hidden, but the way she holds her head or dresses her hair may suggest whether she’s weary or lighthearted, anxious or serene. The woman is not at a similar advantage. The nape of her neck can be seen covertly, concealing from her view a secret glance of longing, a smile of recognition, or even a dangerous approach. It’s where a lover might plant a first kiss, hoping for more; a friend might fling an arm in comfort or play; or a stranger might try to exploit this visible, yet vulnerable, area. While the nape of the neck is a relatively small area of the body, it is one, that to me, encompasses so many different aspects of what it means to be female.
