Hello stampers. Today I have a Prized Peony coloured with Stampin' Blends for you. I am loving colouring the images in this beautiful stamp set from the 2020 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. I wanted to keep my background quite neutral, so I have just used Crumb Cake cardstock. To create a bit more interest, I have used two different embossing folders. I have used the Subtle 3D folder on the first layer, and on the layer I have cut using the Stitched So Sweetly dies, I have used the Dainty Diamonds 3D folder. 🌺 Peony Kansas's Key Characteristics Peony Kansas, scientifically known as Paeonia 'Kansas', is a striking perennial plant highly prized for its large, fragrant flowers and lush foliage. This cultivar is renowned for its vigorous growth habit, abundant blooms, and vibrant colors, making it a popular choice for gardens and floral arrangements alike. 🌳 Origin, Growing Conditions, and Optimal Habitat For Peony Kansas Peony Kansas is a cultivated variety derived from the species Paeonia lactiflora, which is native to China. This cultivar thrives in temperate climates and is well-suited to a range of growing conditions. Here are the key parameters for its growth: Parameter Details Family Paeoniaceae Growth Habit Herbaceous perennial Height 2 to 3 feet Lifespan Long-lived under optimal conditions Hardiness Zones USDA Zones 3 to 8 Temperature (F) Tolerant of cold temperatures Soil pH Range Neutral to slightly acidic Sun Exposure Full Sun to Partial Shade Watering Needs Regular watering, especially during dry spells Pruning Requirements Minimal pruning needed, primarily for deadheading spent blooms Flowering Season Late spring to early summer Bloom Color Various shades including pink, red, and white Fruit Ripening Season N/A Fruit Color N/A Propagation Methods Division, seeds Pests and Diseases Generally pest and disease resistant, but may be susceptible to fungal diseases in humid conditions ✨Care and Maintenance of Peony Kansas The Frederick Douglas Native Azalea is relatively low-maintenance once established. Proper care ensures healthy growth and abundant flowering. Here are some essential care tips: and an answer to the question: How to Grow a Peony Kansas ? Planting: Choose a site with acidic, well-drained soil and partial shade to full sun exposure. Dig a hole twice as wide and deep as the root ball and amend the soil with organic matter. Watering: Provide regular watering, especially during dry spells, to keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Fertilization: Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer formulated for acid-loving plants in early spring. Avoid excessive fertilization, as it may lead to excessive foliage growth at the expense of flowering. Mulching: Mulch around the base of the plant to conserve soil moisture, suppress weeds, and maintain a more consistent soil temperature. Pruning: Minimal pruning is required, primarily for shaping and removing dead or diseased branches. Prune after flowering to avoid cutting off next year's flower buds. By following these care and maintenance guidelines, you can ensure your Peony Kansas remains healthy, productive, and a beautiful addition to your garden or orchard for years to come. 🔎Searching for 'Where Does Peony Grow' or 'Peony Kansas ?' Itoh Peony 'Canary Brilliants' is a stunning hybrid variety, blending the best features of tree and herbaceous peonies. Here's a detailed description of this exquisite flower: Color: The most captivating feature of the 'Canary Brilliants' is its color. The blooms are a vibrant, luminous canary yellow, which is quite rare and highly prized in peonies. This bright, cheerful color gives the flowers a radiant and eye-catching appearance, making them a standout feature in any garden. Form: The flowers of the 'Canary Brilliants' are semi-double, a characteristic feature of Itoh peonies. This means that the flowers have several layers of petals but are not as densely packed as the traditional double peonies. The semi-double form allows the petals to flaunt their color and silky texture gracefully. Size: True to the Itoh peony lineage, the blooms of 'Canary Brilliants' are impressively large, often reaching several inches in diameter when fully open. This size makes them particularly striking and visible from a distance. Fragrance: Itoh peonies are generally known for having a lighter fragrance compared to traditional peonies, and 'Canary Brilliants' may emit a subtle, sweet scent. This delicate fragrance adds an additional layer of enjoyment to its presence in the garden. Blooming Season: Like other Itoh varieties, 'Canary Brilliants' has a longer blooming season compared to other peony types. It typically flowers in late spring to early summer, offering a spectacular display of yellow blooms. Petals: The petals have a soft, smooth texture and are arranged in a way that gives the flower a full, lush appearance. The edges of the petals are often slightly ruffled, adding to the bloom's elegance and charm. In summary, the Itoh Peony 'Canary Brilliants' is celebrated for its unique and striking canary yellow flowers, its large, semi-double blooms, and its extended blooming period. This variety is a sought-after choice for gardeners and flower enthusiasts looking for an exceptional and vibrant addition to their garden. Happy Saturday Peeps!!! Today's card share is a made using the beautiful Prized Peony Bundle!! You all know I am a flower girl through and through and this set makes it so easy, what's not to love? I stamped one of the peony images onto a piece of Vellum card stock with Black Memento ink. I then flipped the piece over and did a quick and I mean very quick coloring on the back side using Magenta Madness and Garden Green inks with my Water Brush. No shading needed as the stamp does all the work. I fussy cut this out and added it to a die cut piece. This pretty lacy edge die cut is from the Ornate Layers die set. I used a lot of mini dimensionals to add the image to my die cut piece. The dimensionals are not noticeable if placed in the dark areas of the stamped image. I added a small strip of DSP from the InColor 6x6 pack across the bottom between the dotted area of the die cut. I used some of the Magenta Madness ribbon across the DSP and tied a pretty double bow to add as well. I mounted this to a piece of thick whisper white piece of card stock that I embossed with the Old World EF. Finally it was added to base which is made with more thick Whisper White card stock. My sentiment comes from the Best Year Stamp set. Listed below are all the "ingredients" used to make this project. If you would like to buy the products for yourself, I would be very happy for you to shop with me. You can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.
