This week the "Imagine That" art camp focused on Picasso's Peace Doves while the younger set in Pint Size Picasso had a lesson on Paul Klee's Cat and Bird...they all used vibrant washes of watercolor and the results were spectacular....cheery colors for a sunny warm week in February.

This is a STEM building and engineering projects with a Greek Myth Theme. Students will construct a new set of wings for Icarus. This activity is designed to encourage critical thinking and scientific reasoning skills, as well as, problem solving and teamwork. Great for use in a STEM classroom, media center, gifted classroom, or as part of your science and math curriculum! It can be completed in one class period of an hour or less. La mitologia grega és plena de personatges extraordinaris. Alguns s'han convertit en mites per un càstig diví o són fruit de la unió entre déus o humans i animals. Cal vigilar molt amb certes criatures, perquè han nascut per sembrar el caos i dur els humans a la perdició. Però també hi ha éssers que ajuden els herois a superar proves difícils. ANIMALS MITOLÒGICS Els monstres i animals a la mitologia grega són molts usuals, i tenen la funció d'oposar-se al heroi perquè aquest el derroti i així demostri la seva fortalesa que el fa ser diferent als altres humans. En moltes ocasions aquests monstres estan extrets de animals reals però amb caràcters afegits que el fan més terrorífic, parts de altres animals o una exageració de les seves qualitats. Una característica molt comuna entre ells es la falta o l'augment d'algun òrgan d'aquell animal com per exemple els Ciclops i el Cèrber. Una altre manera de crear aquests monstres mitològics es mitjançant el hibridisme, que consisteix en encreuar dos animals diferents, aquest es el cas de la Quimera,de les Sirenes, de l'Esfinx i molts més. Aquestes han estat les pautes que han aplicat els alumnes del Cicle Mitjà per a realitzar aquest treball.
