Art Print Wales Great Western Railways Travel Poster Print, 1930s. Prints from old-time Travel Posters. This one advertised travel to Wales by GWR - Greatv Western Railways back in the 1930s. It show the beautiful countryside of Wales. The print will be 20cm X 25cm: 8 inches X 10 inches APPROXIMATELY, and will be on 230gm gloss paper stock of A4 size. A4 is the size known in the USA as 'Letter' size. Should you wish to FRAME this please note that it is intended that the entire sheet is framed. The entire sheet measures 12 inches (30.48 cms) X 8.5 inches (21.59 cms). I have cleaned it up, removing dust-marks, imperfections etc and improving the contrast a little without, I hope, taking anything away from its period feel. Please note: We now offer a FREE lamination process as standard which, while not affecting the appearance of the Prints, extends their life and protects them against heat, ozone gas, UV light and high temperatures. This works really well even when the Prints are framed and under glass. We use the Fellowes 'Imagelast' process which is recognized as the top of the range. And at no extra charge too! If you would rather NOT have this service just let me know.

Our posters are printed to order on a choice high quality (200gsm +) paper and come in three sizes. These are affordable Digital reproductions and are sent in high quality, durable cardboard tubes via royal Mail. Paper Size: - A3 A2 or A1 A3 = 297mm x 420mm or 16.5 inc x 11.7 inc A2 = 594mm x 420mm or 23.4 inc x 16.5 in A1 = 841mm x 594mm or 33.1 inc x 23.4 inc All prints are the best possible fit to a sheet of A3,A2 and A1 IMPORTANT ROYAL MAIL TRACKING The vast majority of our items are sent via Royal Mail and purchased through Etsy Postage. A tracking number is automatically added to your order details. We have had numerous complaints that Postmen are not leaving cards when customers are not in. This now seems to be the norm. It is the customers responsibility to check the tracking and see if an item needs collection or redelivering. These items are generally returned to us after a month after which we will invoice you again to reship the item. If you're item has not arrived after the stated delivery time, check the tracking information. Please note that items sent 2nd class, will only show delivery information once delivery has been attempted. INTERNATIONAL ORDERS OUTSIDE OF THE UK Please note that we now have orders printed and sent from the customers country of residence wherever possible. Items were taking three to four weeks to be delivered by the Royal Mail, with items being delayed at customs, especially in the USA. We can now get items to customers throughout the world within 7 to 10 days. This has resulted in us having to raise our prices for orders placed outside of the UK, however, with the saving made in postage, items are generally £5 or more cheaper to the customer. We hope you agree that this is better off for all parties and that you will pay less overall and get your items quicker.
The British Railway network flourished between 1830 and 1870. By 1852 there were over 7000 miles of rail track in England and Scotland, and every significant centre could rely on rail communication. An early illustration showing the proliferation of advertising posters targeting rail passengers. Britain’s railways transformed the landscape both physically and culturally, producing new opportunities for commerce and travel, and fuelling industrial and economic expansion. Goods could be transported at unprecedented rates, and it was British technologies and engineers that were responsible for railway construction throughout the world. Two early examples of railway posters: London and South Western Railway 1895 East Coast Route At home, major cities, such as Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester and Bristol were now interconnected. Until the creation of the railway, the fastest speed known to man had been that of a galloping horse. Now, an express train could reach speeds of 80 miles an hour. Newspapers printed in London in the early hours could be loaded on a train to be sold that morning in the provinces. This large series on railway poster deals mainly with what could be called the golden age of the railway poster, where the sun always shone and the British seaside was as glamorous as the Côte d’Azur.
