The color's just getting started in the eastern sierra--Bishop Canyon is probably the most colorful right now, at maybe 60% of peak (with some spots at peak, and others still a couple of weeks away). I'm hoping the big storm forecast for this week doesn't 1. kill the color or 2. blow all the leaves off. If you have plans to head that way in the next few weeks (and assuming the weather doesn't do bad things), you'll have plenty to shoot. The light's also been especially good--I shot perhaps the most impressive sunset of my life (so far) on Friday night; I'll post it later this week. If you were anywhere in the north fork of Bishop Canyon Friday night, that was my voice you heard echoing off the cliffs. It was pretty exciting. :)

American Robin at the Inn on Mill Creek B&B, 2012 If ever a bird had the ability to make winter seem a distant memory while frost is still very much on the ground, it would be the American Robi…
The American Robin (Turdus migratorius) lives in many of the environments of Vancouver, BC. Their songs are lovely. And these birds have a striking appearance. Note the ruddy breast, and that vivid yellow beak, along with some handsome gray. Indeed, relative to many birds, robins seem to have large eyes, like all those big brown-eyed mammals that are put into the "cute" category.
