Canadian artist Rob Gonsalves had two things growing up, a love for daydreaming and a love for art. As he grew older he managed to combine these two aspects of himself into his art. As well as a surreal feel, his art also has an optical illusion side to it, where your eyes and brain have to do a double take in order to process the image. Gonsalves calls his style Magic Realism and the paintings below will definitely show you why. Dreaming is an enjoyable emotion that is almost free, the only thing it is going to cost you is time, a price worth paying for... Written Worlds. The Arboreal Office. Carved in Stone. Big Air. Realism is more than a painting technique for some. When we look at Jeremy Lipking's realist oil paintings, we are looking at a faithful representation of life that has earned him comparisons to his art heroes like John Singer Sargent and Anders Zorn, but we are also looking at the artist himself: "I feel like throughout the duration of a painting, I can go through all the human emotions from start to finish," he says.

The magic realism and surrealism art of Paul Bond.
Born in Taranto, Italy, Roberto Ferri began to study painting at first as a self-taught person and, after moving to Rome in 1999, he deepened his research on ancient painting from the early ’16 century till late ’19 century. Inspired deeply by Baroque painters, especially Caravaggio and other Old Masters of Romanticism, Academism and Symbolism (David, Ingres, Girodet, Gericault, Gleyre, Bouguereau, Moreau, Redon, Rops, etc.)

It seems a lot of people are not convinced graphite pencil could do the magic as photograph. You'll be impressed with the mind-blowing pencil drawings.
Since the ancient Greeks, realism has been aspired by Western art lovers, but during the late 1960s and '70s the popularity of highly-realistic drawings reached its peak. Thus, Photorealism and Hyperrealism were born. These perspective drawing genres are still popular, and some artists master their technique so successfully that it becomes hard to tell an oil painting or a pencil drawing from a photograph. Bored Panda collected some of the best examples of this cool art and made a stunning list for you to enjoy.
