A series of pictures show animals from Birmingham to Canada stuck in some very entertaining positions. Fortunately none of the creatures were hurt but they make for some comedy viewing.
Akiya Kageichi is a Japanese illustrator who calls himself Golden Gravel, a name which may refer to Japanese rock gardens. His sinister jesters, lazy rulers and clandestine warriors are set within scenes full of chaotic imagery. Astrological symbols, particularly moons, are heavily prominent, suggesting the mysterious forces of dark nights are at work. In a single plane, objects morph, creating dynamic and active scenes. Kageichi reveals hidden underworlds and secret futures, in which sorcery and witchcraft pull the strings and determine what happens in the real world.

Then, as now, a certain sort of man was fascinated by these so-called petticoat duels, and The Illustrated Police News, Britain’s first tabloid and official worst newspaper, liked to report on them in full. With pictures.
During a recent trip to Romania, I had the chance to shoot the abandoned casino in Constanta. As a pearl watching over the Black Sea where wealthy travelers and the elite flocked from all over Europe to play and dance all night in what used to be the most magnificent building of the country. I hope my photographs will give you a glimpse of what was the atmosphere back in time!
Here’s a floor plan which will “provide optimal energy efficiency whilst at the same time offering a modern lifestyle with a variety of areas retreating or entertaining – all areas naturally linked together by sunlit breezeways.” This plan is a perfect layout for integrating the outside environment with garden beds…
