Ile de Bréhat Le 22 avril 1909 Monsieur le Président, J’ai l’honneur et suis heureux de vous faire connaître qu’aujourd’hui, vers 4h 30 du soir, le patron Colin Jean-Marie et son fils André, montant le bateau « insulaire » faisant la traversée de Bréhat à l’Arcouest par une tempête violente de S-E et fort courant, ont aperçu un petit bateau, assez mal appareillé, qui, venant de quitter Bréhat se rendant à Paimpol-kérity, avait été jeté par la violence du vent et du courant sur le rocher Roch Ourmelec à un mille environ de la pointe de l’Arcouest. Le bateau coula presque aussitôt et les deux hommes qui le montaient restèrent cramponnés au dit rocher qui allait bientôt couvrir totalement. Colin, jugeant qu’il lui était impossible de pouvoir sauver ces deux malheureux avec son grand bateau, vu le très mauvais état de la mer et la violence du courant entre ces rochers si dangereux, s’empressa de venir prendre son canot pour pouvoir sauver ces naufragés. Heureusement, que son frère Colin Olivier, patron du bateau « Petrel », et son matelot Le Maillot Pierre (jeune), qui avaient aussi vu le naufrage, faisaient toute diligence avec un canot pour rejoindre le bateau « Insulaire » afin de prêter vivement leur concours et arriver à temps pour sauver ces malheureux qui allaient infailliblement être noyés. Par leur empressement, leur grande connaissance des dangers, leur courage et leur dévouement, ils réussirent à sauver ces malheureux qui étaient voués à une mort certaine ; on les déposa à l’Arcouest, où ils reçurent les soins nécessaires.
