A little while back my nephew sent me a whole bunch of beautiful engagement photos of him and his beautiful fiance (now, just recently, his wife!)....I just now had a little time to start putting together some layouts with them. I plan on doing a few of them and framing them as a gift for them. For this layout I used some of my all time favourite chipboard pieces from Dusty Attic, the Baroque Frame - Square, the Hinges and the Sentiment words (Love)....and of course the perfect papers for this photo was from the 'In Love' collection from Websters Pages! The quote I used here I thought so perfectly reflected the photo, it says "There is only one thing I want to change about you" he said, "Your last name" Here are a few close-up shots of the page. Each month the Websters Pages design team gals are asked to do a project that is inspired by the Guest designer for the month, and this months guest designer is Jennifer Gallacher, she has a beautiful clean style of scrapping (a bit different from mine lol!) but I really loved this cute handmade embellishment she added to her page, it was a folded pin-wheel design (You can find Jen's layout at the Websters Pages Inspire Me site), so I used that as my inspiration to create the folded fabric blooms on this page (above). I shared a tutorial a little while back on how to make these folded blooms, if you want to check it out you can find it HERE. And here are some pic's of the Dusty Attic Chipboard pieces I used to embellish this page..... While I was working away at some layouts I just couldn't resist playing with some of the NEWEST Dusty Attic chipboard pieces! There is a new collection of Bamboo designs in the May/June release, as well as a cute new Flourish #8 and a new Hanging Sign #2 (I also used some of my favourite Chicken Wire Panel chippies and the Grass Cluster #1 chipboard pieces....... The photo's I scrapped here were some I took a few years ago of my youngest daughter Meagan playing mini-golf, this little one plays by her own set of rules, it's almost always her turn, she can take as many shots as she wants (but they always add up to '1'), and I just had to giggle at her form! ....The papers I used for this page are from the Websters Pages 'Game On' collection, I thought these playful papers would make the perfect backdrop for these photos. Here are a few close-ups.... Above is a photo of all the different types of chipboard pieces I used for the 'Mini-Golf' layout. If you are interested in seeing some of the newest chippies for this month from Dusty Attic you can find them HERE. Hope you enjoyed seeing my latest pages.....and hope you'll come back at the end of the week, I've got some really fun video tutorials to share with you all!!! Thanks for stopping by! xx
As soon as I got my Websters Pages "Girl Land" goodies in the mail, I just had to dive in head first, the prolbem was deciding which style to go with first! The first page I made is the one you saw on Monday on the bloghop (can't resist me some pink!! lol!) But I have to say I've been so drawn to the vintage images on another of the papers in the collection. I ended up choosing the tag with the violet posies on one of the patterned papers and building the above page around it. Here are a few close-up shots of my page... I snuck a little piece of one of my favorite Dusty Attic pieces on this page, the Chicken Wire Panel. I just added a touch of Platinum Stickles to the chipboard to bling it up a bit. I really love the patterned paper that has all the cute doilies on it as well, I cut one out and mounted it on some pop dots and added one of the WP Perfect Accents (Cameo's) from the 'In Love' collection to the center. I used some Tombow liquid adhesive to attach a strand of pearls around the cameo. (pearls, cameo's, they just go together don't they!!) How to Make the Violet Posies: As a page embellishment, I wanted to imitate the cute bouquet of violets I cut out on from the tag on one of the WP Girl Land papers. I created the above bouquet by first choosing three colors of card stock in a dark, medium and light plum color. I then used the Martha Stewart Hydrangea punch (pictured below) on all three pieces of cardstock. I used mostly the larger of the three punch images (you can use the smaller bits for other parts of the page or put aside for a card). I then used a Colorbox White chalk ink on the edges of the petals, and ran the edge of the inkpad along the center of each petal making it look like a crease. I then turned each of the petals up a little giving it a slight curl. (A stylus works well to curl the petals up). Then adhere to your page working the darkest on the outside to the lightest on the inside. Add a few punched green cardstock leaves on the outer edges to finish it off (again, I used a small Martha Stewart leaf punch for this). I added a dab of lavender liquid pearls to the center of each bloom....done! Have I put this collection aside yet? Nope! I'm working on another page to share with you all near the end of the month when I will be sharing a little peek at my scraproom! Thanks again for popping by and for the sweet comments you all leave, your feedback is always appreciated! (Oh, and BTW...a couple of you have asked...do my girls still dress up with the floral headbands etc.? Not so much anymore, the above pic was taken a couple summers back. My oldest daughter (recently turned 14) for sure not, the youngest one (Meagan, in the photo above, will sometimes still dress up (she's 10)...at the moment we made her an Egyptian crown out of foil and paper mache with jewels, for a project she is doing at school about ancient civilizations. I'll have to get a pick when she dresses up for this and scrap it! :)

Here's a photo I recently scrapped with some of the new sweet papers in the Websters Pages 'New Beginnings' collection. I was so atracted to the soft blues and warm yellows in this one. Meagan is such a hat girl, she's always loved wearing them from babyhood to now. I embellished this page with some new and older Websters pages embellishments from the new Metal Charms to an old favourite of mine, the Bloomers. Here are some close-up pic's of the page.... I wanted to show a fun way to attach some of the new charms. I just love the new Key Charm (above)...When I was scrolling through Pinterest on my phone a little while back I saw someone had attached a key to one of their projects in a similar way. I unfortunately couldn't find the pin again when I got onto my computer so I can't give credit to the person I saw using this 'X' design, sorry about that. To attach the key I punched 4 eyelets into the background paper and then ran twine through the loop of the key to hold it into place. I did also use some heavy duty Tombo two sided adhesive on the back of the key as well to hold it in place (just as an extra measure). This close-up shows some of the layering of embellishments in a little more detail. I used some of the new Dusty Attic Corrugated Card and a little snippit of a Dusty Attic Vine Border. I also used my favourite butter yellow Bloomers from Websters pages and a portion of one of their gathered blooms called Princess Petals. The small white/blue blooms are from Dusty Attic. And finally here is a close-up of more Websters Pages embellies I used on the page. The crochetted circle is part of a set from the 'In Love' collection and the cameo is one of the Perfect Accents from the Palm Beach collection (I thought the nautical design would work well with the colors in the page). The yellow butterfly is cut from a contact sheet I made up of this butterfly in many sizes (If you missed it you can find the contact sheet that I shared with my readers a while back in the right side column of my blog under 'Yellow Butterfly Contact Sheet'
Hi crafty friends! Amber Mitchell here on the Simple Stories blog today to share with a fun mini album I created using the Simple Vintage Coastal collection! The beach is one of my favorite vacation spots. I love the smell of the salty sea, the cool air, and the atmosphere of relaxation and happiness. This collection had me feeling nostalgic for all of those things and I cannot wait to go on a beach getaway so that I can document it in this mini. The base of my mini album consists of three parts: two chipboard covers and a paper spine. My chipboard covers measure 3.5 x 5.5 inches. I wrapped these using the "Paradise Found' paper from the 12x12 collection kit. I added machine stitching along the edges of my covers for extra texture. The spine of my album is made from a piece of paper that measured 4 by 4.25 inches. I scored on the 4-inch side at 1 and 3 inches. I used these two tabs to add the spine to the chipboard covers. Once adhered, I then added the inner linings of my covers, which I cut from the "Beach Vibes" paper, on top to seal everything in place. To create the pages of this album, I cut 8 pieces of paper that measured 3.25 by 4.25 inches. I added these to the spine of the album using two 1-inch binder rings and some colored eyelets. To embellish the spine a bit more, I created paper beads from scraps and tied those, along with some acrylic beads from my stash, to the center of the spine using elastic thread. I also added some beaded, handmade tassels and some charms from my stash for some extra fun! When it came to embellishing the pages of my album, I first laid down some photo mats I created from white cardstock. These measure 3 by 4 inches and are perfect for wallet-sized photos. I added one photo mat to every spread of the album. Once these were in place, I focused on embellishing the empty spaces of my book, as well as the cover. To make the cover pop, I added some handmade rosettes and created embellishment clusters on top of them. I used a mix of the embellishments from the Simple Vintage Coastal collection to decorate the pages of my album. I used the Foam Stickers and Chipboard Stickers to create depth and dimension, along with the Layered Stickers. For some added bits of fun here and there, I added phrase stickers from the Sticker Book. Along with these, I also layered up some die-cuts from the Bits and Pieces and Floral Bits ephemera packs. I even turned some of these pieces into tags that I placed throughout to make it more interactive. The last touch was a few of the Decorative Brads throughout the album and now this mini is ready for all types of beach getaway memories! Thanks so much for stopping by my post today! I'll see you next time with another fun project!

These simple scrapbook page ideas are perfect for beginners and those who've been scrapbooking a while. Find ideas to help make your pages more exciting!
Sometimes I like to just stick to one collection and use all the embellishments made to coordinate with the collection. It makes a page design come together easily. But other times I like to play around and pick a bit of this collection and a little of that! That's what I did with this page. I used a wood panel paper from the Bo Bunny Heritage collection for my background paper. Then layered a paper called 'Gratitude' from the Garden Journal collection. I then used other papers from the Garden Journal collecton for my matting and coordinated with embellishments from the same collection. Then I wandered over to the Sweet Life collection by Bo Bunny and picked out a butterfly from the Noteworthy die cut pack to add as an extra embellishment to this page. I used film strip sticker from the 12x12 sticker page from Garden Journal to create a horizontal page design. This shot shows products from 4 collections (Butterfly from Sweet Life, woodgrain paper from Heritage, Stickers, chipboard stickers and papers from Garden Journal and alphabet stickers from Star-crossed (LOVE those alpha stickers!). I went with the greens and neutrals from the Bo Bunny Blossom collections to embellish around my photo. I also added a hemp twine bow and some bits of cheesecloth to add to the tattered look. Bo Bunny Products used on this Project: Patterned Paper: Heritage/Register, Garden Journal/Wonder, Gratitude,Pastel 6x6 paper pad: Garden Journal 12x12 Sticker Sheet: Garden Journal Combo Sticker: Star-Crossed (alphabet Stickers) Layer Chipboard: Garden Journal Noteworthey: Sweet Life, Garden Journal Jewels: Double Dot Emerald Jewels, Primrose Blossoms: Clover Bouquet, Clover Dahlia, Natural Earth Zinnia Stamps: Distressed Textures, It is Written Other products: Wyncinanka Wood embellishments Tim Holtz Distress Paint: Victorian Velvet, Bundled Sage Hemp Twine Cheesecloth Hope you enjoyed my project today! And hope you all have a lovely scrappy weekend! Thanks so much for all the sweet comments and feedback! xo
