About The Artwork The work was inspired by a visit to Greece at the time in my life that I was beginning to learn how to fly an aeroplane. The figure is full of energy and the joy of the feeling of youth. Young Icarus is free to fly where he will. There is no thought of danger for the young mythological figure. I used clay to make the original and to create a wax like surface for the wings which translates well into bronze. Bronze can also take any colour patination and so create the effect of the figure moving towards the sun. The work is loosely modelled to suggest the movement of the piece. Icarus Rising is one of an edition of only 9 bronzes. Each bronze is hand finished and so each patination colour is unique to the edition piece. If the current edition piece has been sold it could take between 10 to 14 weeks to produce the new work. Please bear this in mind when you order. Based in Richmond, Virginia artist Morgan Herrin transforms the most humble material—laminated construction grade 2x4s—into spectacularly detailed figurative sculptures. His choice of imagery is surreal: a noble 15th century knight melts into a network of dripping stalagmites or a classical marble bust that is overgrown with parasitic sea creatures. The resulting works are a fascinating juxtaposition of material and subject matter that require up to a year of labor to produce. Of the untitled knight piece Herrin says: Untitled (Knight) is the product of the combination of two subjects: 15th century plate armor, and geological cave structure. More
This contemporary solid bronze sculpture of a ram's head is inspired by the art of Ancient Rome and Ancient Greece with a reference to neoclassicism. The artist is able to attribute incredible details to this work of art featuring an aries with a majestic appearance due to its large horns. The animal figurative artwork is sculpted on the round and is inspired from the imagination of the artist and from archaic reminiscences. The artist has modeled the inert wax cast of the sculpture - which is the soul of the final result in bronze - creating an animal with very real facial expression and incredible realistic features with intricate detailed head. The artist is confident with his manuality and with the techniques of working with wax, clay and metal, as well as welding, soldering and shaping rigid materials, the basic skills necessary to work with bronze. His very personal technique is to manually apply each individual little piece of wax until the desired effect is achieved. The final results is a bronze sculptures that is smooth and rough at the same time. This sculpture is casted in Italy using very traditional techniques and the artist personally takes care of this process also. The noble bronze has now a green patina to simulate the natural oxidation process of metals but it's possible to polish the bronze in order to have a more brilliant golden finish as showed in the last two pictures. Each piece is unique as at each casting the artist re-models the wax cast based on the sample created in plaster. The plaster model of this aries' head is also available for sale in a lacquer matte finish or with gold or silver leaves finish. This sculpture is the perfect addition to any room, a contemporary yet classic fine artwork to be shown on a column, a table or a desk. A wunderkammer object for art lovers! This piece is immediately available, production leads time for additional pieces is 30 days circa. Measures: Depth 38 cm, Depth 35 cm, Height 22 cm Short artist’s biographical note Pablo Simunovic was born in Buenos Aires (Argentina) in 1974. He began to draw very young, at the age-child, self-taught. At the age of fourteen he began to attend the Institute of Design "Ricardo Rojas” in Buenos Aires, until the age of eighteen. He moved in 1999 to the United States, in Miami, and here is the crucial meeting for its formation, with the painter Abdon Romero, a Venezuelan painter, director of the Academy of Fine Arts in Maracaibo. In the atelier of Romero, directed together with the painter Sonia Hidalgo, Pablo Simunovic continues his artistic journey, practicing with the practice of drawing, and gains a clear and sure sign in the realization of the shapes and volumes. The artist is confident with his manuality and with the techniques of working with wax, clay and metal, as well as welding, soldering and shaping rigid materials, the basic skills necessary to work with bronze. The final results is a bronze sculptures that is smooth and rough at the same time that interprets the real movements and attitudes of the animal in an incredible way. Each piece is unique as at each casting the artist re-models the wax cast based on the sample created in plaster. The customer can choose a parcel gilt, burnished or green patina finish to the bronze. Currently Pablo lives and works between Florence and Pietrasanta, from painting he approached sculpture by working different materials from marble to bronze, his passion for sculpture often leads him to Pietrasanta in Tuscany, a privileged place for sculptors where he finds inspiration, materials and foundries to create his works of art.

“The human being is three-dimensional, that is probably the main reason why we are attracted to sculpture, it is the closest artistic representation of ourselves.”
Lorenzo Bartolini's "Fiducia in Dio" is the artist's best-known work and, more generally, is emblematic of Italian sculpture in the generation after Canova. The model recalls Canova's Mary Magdalen, but the work is more indebted to the observation of nature than the influence of the antique. It typifies the move towards a softer Neo-classicism which made way for Romanticism in Italian sculpture.

Scarpella's ceramic sculpture series “Ghost Underground,” are beautiful veiled faces with light and dark quartz crystals embedded within them. These works were influenced by the famous sculptures (The Veiled Christ is a masterpiece by Giuseppe Sanmartino completed in 1753) that lay in the Cappella Sansevero, a chapel in Naples, Italy.

About Tall bronze sculpture of a man playing guitar with dark patina. The historic tradition of cast bronze provides a contemporary avenue for the creation of Wayne Salge’s abstracted human and animal figures. Thoroughly modern and distinctly impressionistic, his signature style is recognized by long lines, sharp angles, smooth planes and textured surfaces finished with intricate patinas. Working in wax or clay to create each original, the artist then follows each piece through the foundry process in northeastern Colorado near his home and studio. His strong foundation in the arts includes a lengthy career in graphic design and illustration plus college classes in sculpture, painting and art history along with workshops in bronze casting and stone carving. He is an elected member of the National Sculpture Society and an associate member of the National Sculptors Guild. Salge states “My bronze sculptures encompass human and animal forms which I depict in my own abstracted style: a Salge blend of classical and contemporary elements. I utilize lines, shapes and textures to reveal body movement, gesture or stillness. I am not concerned with precise anatomy or plausible function; instead I focus on the expression of attitude or emotion.” The Eisenhauer Gallery has experience shipping artwork around the world.

About The Artwork Falling With Grace is an abstract fusion of organic and geometric shapes, yet it suggests the silhouette of a lady off balance. Whether it is falling in love, letting go of control, living to the fullest, she is letting grace take over her. As in all the Involutati sculptures, it constantly transforms in a play of light and shadows, making it always evolving, like if it were dancing. It is cast in resin with white Carrara marble powder (marmolina) and its surface softly shines. It is a limited signed edition of 8. It can take up to 2 weeks to have ready to ship the next available piece of the edition. It is featured in the short film “Involutati, A Journey of the Soul Through Matter”, and is part of a subgroup of sculptures of that series depicting passion (see MD XIV – Diva, MD V).
