On the 500th anniversary of Hieronymus Bosch’s death, Milan-based artist Alessandro Boezio pays homage to the Dutch master through a series of surreal sculptures.
This collection of objects builds on David’s established practice of responding and reacting to existing objects. Initially employing pieces made from Old Sheffield Plate, he has subverted the original designs, introducing new materials to challenge ideas of preciousness and conventional notions of cutlery.

A visual metaphor for imperfection and the possibilities of repair, the porcelain sculptures created by Ohio-based artist Glen Taylor (previously) are steeped in contrast. Soldered spikes confront the gilded, floral designs on a stack of teacups, a rusted pair of scissors binds shards of a plate, and wire restrains a concrete hand as it lurches from dinnerware. In his most recent pieces, Taylor also draws on his background in ceramics, creating the witty “Introvert Mug” with the handle strategically placed inside the vessel. More
I specialise in botanical sculpture, often encapsulating or suspending my living works. I explore the ephemeral, natural change and preservation allowing my work to evolve as nature takes its course offering the beauty of things imperfect, impermanent and incomplete. Alongside my personal artistic practice, I established Botanique in 2013.
Alexander Calder will make you think twice about air currents. They are the unseen forces that propel his mobile sculptures, whimsical feats of engineering in which abstract bodies of shape and line draw attention to their own balancing acts. His stabiles, or stationary sculptures, are likewise distinguished by an airy kineticism. Calder’s sculptures were unprecedented …

About The word "ARIA" comes from the word air. Air, over time, sculpts the surface of the earth to create what we call mountains. ARIA seeks to be a timeless object by mimicking what is constant through time ... What is that constant? Nature. ARIA seeks to be similar to the human being, by emulating its anthropometry and being similar to what surrounds him: mountains, canyons, stalactites... - These nature similarities in the object are intended to convey a feeling of peace to the viewer, which is what ARIA seeks to transmit (peace), in order to return to its essence. Rebeca Cors (México, 1988) works as an independent artist under the name CORS by Rebeca Cors, which she founded in 2012. CORS explores the meeting point between sculpture and utility object, materializing its sundry results in order to create a design piece that expresses itself in a distinct way. PLEASE NOTE: TONE, TEXTURE AND MARBLE VEINS VARIES DUE TO THE NATURAL ORIGIN OF THE MATERIAL. AS A RESULT, EACH PIECE IS UNIQUE.

Andriy and Olesya Voznicki are well established Ukranian artists. They have both graduated from Lviv Academy of Art in Ukraine, Olesya - from Art Glass department and Andriy as a sculptor. They were well known artictic studio based in the Ukranian town Uzhgorod. Forced to recently flee their home in Ukraine and relocate to the Netherlands, Olesya and Andriy Voznicki have restarted their practice in vicinity to Amsterdam and been supported by Mia Karlova Galerie to create a new series of ceramic pieces using locally-sourced materials. Their pieces – which combine wood, clay and coal – demonstrate our innate desire to form deep connections with the natural world and the materials that surround us. Voznicki explains: “Our practice is very much rooted in the environment in which we find ourselves at any given moment in our lives. When we arrived in Amsterdam, we visited a salvage market and found a myriad of old materials that formed the basis of our new pieces. There’s something truly magical about transforming elements that were once utilitarian into unexpected, tactile objects.’
* Aren’t these sculptures beautiful? They were created by Holly A. Senn from discarded library books. In these labor-intensive works she explores the life cycle of ideas—how ideas are generated, dispersed, referenced or forgotten. Holly received a M.L.I.S. from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.A. from Mills College. You can visit her website to see […]
