Morning Everyone, For a change it's not Alyce posting this Thursday, but don't ya' worry she'll be back next week! Sandy here; I didn't schedule Alyce for this week as I didn't think the parcel with Pion Design's new gorgeous collection "My precious daughter" would get there on time. Little did I know that it would take ages for the DT parcels to reach Tina in Germany and Heidi in Norway. Have all European posties gone on Summer holiday, or what's going on? Anywho; Vicky was kind enough to swap day with Tina and then we were holding our breath, hoping the parcel would reach Tina in time for today's post. It didn't look good.. Yesterday around noon Tina pinged me on the messenger and the parcel had then not yet been delivered. We had almost given up hope, but about 1 hour later, Tina pinged me again and the postie had just delivered her parcel. :-) Just in time for today's inspiration post, aren't we lucky?!!! Tina has created a large canvas with the sheets My daughter 12x12 and Baby Doll 12x12. The trim dividing the two sheets is the adorable Mini Banner Trim from Maya Road. The image has been cut from the "My daughter 12x12" sheet and framed by a large Victorian resin frame from Prima. Here's a view of the complete project: The butterflies are from the "Border" sheet, as is the border strip underneath the image. The laces, "Samsara" and "Helene" have sold out, but some new beautiful lace trims were added yesterday: Thanks for stopping by. I have to admit I was sad when I heard about the demise of Rachel Ashwell's Shabby Chic chain. Since moving to LA I would often walk dreamily through the Santa Monica location. It was such a vision of sophisticated...
I just can't get over how fast time passes the older I get. I have neglected my poor little blog for so long and it has been total lazi...
When I first started this blog..you know way back like 3 weeks ago....I asked my kids what I should have as the subject of my first post. To my surprise both Wyatt and Chantel said, "Our bathroom". I couldn't believe it--in my immediate family I never get too many compliments on my decorating. (except from my oldest Janae) I think they don't want to do anything to encourage me. The more I decorate, the pickier I am about the house being clean, and everything being right where it is surpose to be--so tweens and husbands usually don't want to encourage the madness. So anyway when they said the bathroom I was surprised because I thought I might have gone a little girly crazy in there. My son Wyatt said that it is girly but it is unique and nobody else has a bathroom like it so he thinks its cool. I so adore him. I didn't think a bathroom should be my first post..but now that I am up to like post #17 I decided its time to share the bathroom. Our bathroom was a standard contractors bathroom..you know--large unframed mirror and beige floors and counters. I wanted to make it more unique yet do it on our "Kool-aid budget". So I had seen a posting from an amazing blogger that me and about a million other people follow. mirror inspiration here I glued the frame of one of my many mirrors that I have picked up at Goodwill and garage sales over the years with a silicone I believe. I looked up on the internet that it is safe for the mirror underneath and that the mirror can be removed with acetone. Then I did what I had done on the mirror at our old house and I found at Goodwill this really long fabric drape. It was white and believe it or not I thought it needed some color. I dyed it until it became the perfect blue I wanted in the bathroom and then with t-pins I stuck it up around the mirror in a fothy and flowing way. (okay maybe "fothy" isn't a word but you know what I mean) I don't know why but I have always been charmed by Kewpie This lavender brings back good memories of going to the lavender festival with my daughters last year. This picture and night light are both from HomeGoods. The blue in this picture is what I was going for when dying the swag. Believe it or not I found this mirror at Goodwill for $2.99 and it was just a little dirty and I cleaned it and now I think its perfect! It is made out of a kind of ceremic plastery stuff--it is really pretty. I bought this on ebay like 15 years ago before I became so thrifty. I paid a lot for it but I love it so I guess I'm glad I did. Notice the shower curtain--I so love it! I don't know if you can see it very well but there are roses along the top and bottom. It is so so glam! So that is our bathroom--it is actually the bathroom next to the kids room and the one that guests use. Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I have had a wonderful day with my family. The hubby took the day off to spend with me...but we had two girls with us because of the weather and no school so the lovin' was a little hard to fit in, lol. He took all us gals out to eat which was a real treat since we've been sticking to this low sodium diet. I think we all had plenty to eat and our eyes were bigger than our bellies! My beautiful PINK roses that my sweetie bought me...aren't they beautiful?!!! Perfect for in my white pitchers don't ya think?! And look what He got from me...chocolate covered strawberries! Sara gave me the chocolate covered cherries with the sweet thought about my salt intake. 2 are only 10 mg's of sodium! She was so thoughtful.... Poor little Hannah didn't get to go out to buy us anything which is fine with us...but I think she may have worried a bit about it because she kept saying that she hadn't been taken anywhere. Sara has her own car to go places, poor Hannah has to depend on us, lol. I love my girls... Now, here's what I made the night before Valentine's Day. I thought it needed some ruffles added to it. Didn't it turn out so pretty? See, I told you all I was kidding myself when I said I was done with our retreat.... I made this too while I had the sewing machine out. It was a little farm stool that was painted blue. And look at this beautiful window! We hung it in place of the smaller one. I love it! Well, that's it for now. I hope you all have had a blessed Valentine's Day and that you feel loved! Nothing better than being loved by someone or our pets!
Morning! You know those days that you are feeling a little blue…well that is where I am at today…so I decided to take a little coffee break and travel the wonderful world of Pinterest! My sheer purpose to go from blue to feeling “in the pink“…so I thought if any of you might be feeling […]
