Scouring Wool correctly without felting it. Step by step instructions for how to scour or wash raw wool and other animal fiber
Kate’s first fiber love: Columbia sheep.
Sheep friendly fiber art wall hanging * hand made by me * sheep/ animal friendly * natural felted wool locks * driftwood * natural twine hanger * found seashells * you are purchasing felted wall art shown * indoor or outdoor use * Breed: Valais Blacknose PLEASE NOTE: Valais Blacknose are dual coated (fluffy undercoat/ coarse hairlike outer coat some shedding may be possible DESCRIPTION This sheep friendly wall hanging has been designed & made with beautiful wool from Moe, a Valais Blacknose sheep. All of the wool used in the making and designing of this fiber art was shorn for the sheep's pleasure & yours as they are alive & well, happily roaming the fields on their small family farms. THE PROCESS: Felting is a labor of love with each piece being designed & artfully crafted entirely by hand. The end result is undeniably lovely and because of the hand made nature, you can be assured that no two pieces will ever be the same. In fact, they will assuredly be "imperfectly perfect" with all of the characteristics of the natural wool emerging in each carefully designed piece. That, to me, is what makes them a beautiful art piece for you to enjoy! PLEASE NOTE: The wool & locks I use is purchased directly from & supports small farms & shepherds. You will inevitably find bits of hay or wildgetation occasionally intertwined within the felted layers which adds a unique artistic & organic quality to each hand designed piece. Straks even naar mams en vanavond de kapsalon even her inrichten.
