As far as the skill or talent to undertake such crafts is concerned, you can pick up the skill and develop it if you are really serious about them. Take for instance crafts with shell, a gift from the sea, which is both charming, easily available and if you are willing to trawl the shores of the sea, then inexpensive.

Painted on ethically sourced Apple Snail Shells, these are the original Tiny Houses. They are hand gathered in Florida. Don't worry, the inhabitants of these shell were not in away harmed by the shell collectors. Various species of birds have created the vacancy of the shell, leaving them to be hand collected. All of the shells undergo a through cleansing process. They are soaked in hot boiling bleach water for several days, they are then removed and rinsed, placed in boiling water one last time, and finally laid out to let them completely dry under a heat lamp. All shells are painted by me in my Woodstock NY studio. I am using acrylic paint and finish with a clear water-based polyurethane. They are signed and dated. Each shell comes in its own black lacquer tin to arrive safely and to be presented beautifully.
