Architecture is meant to fulfill both practical and expressive requirements, and thus it serves both utilitarian and aesthetic purposes. When you look at a structure, you can distinguish these two ends but they cannot be separated, and the relative weight each of them carry can vary widely. Plus, every society has its own, unique relationship to the natural world and its architecture usually reflects that as well, allowing people from other places to learn about their environment, as well as history, ceremonies, artistic sensibility, and many aspects of daily life.
Posting it 3 months after the trend but: here's my version of Kaveh's emojis ✨ (Like it's drawn for months too but I'm just dumb and forget to post 😂)

A highly unusual antique wood box from Italy, with hand-carved trim molding and a handpinted ikat motif. Beautiful pastel shades of pink, green, navy and ochre yellow are seen in this exotic pattern reminiscent of traditional ikat, apparently hand-painted on canvas then pasted on the wood surface. The effect is bold, graphic and gorgeous! This unexpected motif is contrasted with the traditional Italian wood carving at the edge trim. The interior is in beautiful condition, with the lid lined with fabric and overall very clean. Fitted with a new chain to stabilize when opened. The box is quite sizable, and may be used as tabletop storage for odds and ends. This wonderful box was acquired, together with another fantastic scarole box, in Italy. The storage boxes were used to keep candles in a monastery.

Happy Weekend Everyone! I had tons of fun designing our brand new Niche Shrines! These cool shrines have a niche built right inside! It's like a shrine inside a shrine! The perfect place to store a small treasure! This shrine would look great with some of the new Stencil Board Picado adorning the front and perhaps a small DOTD embellishment (On Sale!) tucked inside the niche. But this versatile shrine can be used for any theme. Makes an excellent Theatre too! And you could even turn it horizontally for an interesting look. And they come in three cool sizes! I can't wait to see what you create with them! CHECK OUT THE NEW GOODIES HERE Art Time Feature With Kim Collister! We're "Dream Catching" today with Design Team Member Kim Collister!
