Brrrr it was chilly photoshoot this week... I've been waiting to jump on this trend's bandwagon for awhile now. I went looking for left-over Boxing Day deals later that week and came across this waist-cinching cape at Costa Blanca for only $30! These coats are super comfortable, and the tied waist also creates feminine peplum effect. It's also a huge plus if you're sick of having all the buttons fall off your coat- no buttons here! Today is supposedly the saddest day of the year (Blue Monday, so why not add a little sparkle to your outfit to lighten the mood? I always dress the way I want to feel, and sequins (like this Zara skirt) make me feel bright and fancy. Try it and see how you feel! For the second day of our boating excursion during the May long weekend, I opted for an equally nautical look (of course), which was the result of a very impromptu shopping spree at Old Navy prior to the trip! Their nautical flip flops were just way too adorable to pass on; they even have little anchors on them, after all. I built the outfit around my linen pants, which you may have seen on my Los Angeles post from last summer. Linen is such a breezy fabric, and I love how it looks as part of a nautical outfit. I bought a linen blouse from Old Navy as well, which you'll see in one of my summer posts I'm sure. You don't have to be on a boat to wear nautical style linen though, it looks great on the beach too!
