"Winter, Sixth Avenue" is a a fine-art archival print of an original Impressionist painting by Robert Padovano. Here's a winter snow scene of Sixth Avenue in Manhattan, looking toward Radio City Music Hall. There's something about the the city covered in snow that I find irresistible to paint. The snow softens the atmosphere and gives street and car lights a soft luminous glow. It always makes for a compelling subject as the snow creates movement and atmosphere. The challenge that I love with rain or snow scenes is to show what would otherwise be a very grey and monochromatic palette of colors can really be interpreted as quite luminous by using an impressionist approach. Here I'm using different shades of blue, and ultramarine colors combined to bring what would be an otherwise drab scene alive. It also adds a "coziness" to the scene that the winter brings to the holiday season. All my prints are made with archival inks on heavy stock acid free velvet fine art paper. The image comes in two sizes: $55 - Medium size - total size of print measures approx. 9.5 x 9.5˝ including white border around image. $95 - Large size - total size of print measures approx. 13 x 13˝ including white border around image. It is titled and hand signed in pencil. The print comes packed with an "About the Artist" biography and certificate of authenticity. It comes well protected in a plastic sleeve, backed with cardboard. I retain all rights and copyrights to my images.

La Grande Boucherie has completely transformed a section of Sixth-and-half Avenue.
Created during the artist’s most prolific and creative period, The El, New York (Sixth Avenue El—Nocturne) is emblematic of the artist's quintessential 1890s style with its loose, yet controlled, brushstrokes conveying the energy and motion of the city. Pedestrians and horse-drawn carriages occupy the wide street as the El Train passes on the left. The smoke from the train billows into the night sky, already lit by the glowing orange and yellow street lamps. Through these juxtapositions, both of colour and subject matter, Hassam reveals a city in the midst of modern development. The artist also aligns the train tracks, street and buildings on the same diagonal plane, creating a striking recession of space that leads into the darkness.
