We visited the Aran Island of Innis Oirr (Inisheer), quilted with these rock walls built over the centuries to clear the land for farming. Many contained cows, sheep, horses. As our horse drawn ride trotted along the roads, horses in these paddocks would whinny a greeting to our horse! The sound of bird calls filled the air with a lovely music. I imagined the kids on this island of 250 playing wicked hide & seek in the paddocks.

Wow I made the count: This is my 7th Photo with a Bridge on my still quite young Photostream! I don't know why my best Images until now are all Bridges, maybe its just the easiest for a beginning Photographer cause they are FIRST not running away and you can take all the Time in the World shooting them and SECOND its easy to make a good composition since nice reflecting rivers and the beautiful architecture of these bridges are giving you all the Tools you need to score! But still this one is a special one. It's the Symbol of Cahors a beautiful small Town in the South of France and by the way the Town my beautiful Girlfriend grew up in. It's officially the most beautiful fortified Bridge in Europe and a World Heritage Site of UNESCO. Last but not least it even has a nice little Legend about its construction involving the Architect and the Devil who's actually still living over there! And if visitors look close enough they will even be able to see him!

These valleys were once potato fields up until the Great Famine. Because of the lack of use and the terrain, the ground turned into marshland (albeit very pretty marshland). The ground was squishy and your shoes would soak just by standing in one place for too long. According to our utterly entertaining tour guide, he said that the water and minerals in the marshland were able to preserve or mummify bodies. He also added that bodies were sometimes pulled out - not quite sure whether I want to believe him! Walking along the "Western Way" trail in Connemara. "Al-Masmak was the starting point for King Abdulaziz to recover the capital of his grandfathers. The palace was renovated and transformed to a public museum. The word "Masmak" means thick, high inaccessible building, and this is applicable to Al-Masmak, which is a strong square fortress with high towers of thick walls" - Saudi Embassy Discover Riyadh
