ten creative ways to send snail mail
Hi, I saw a video tutorial on Nik the Booksmith you tube channel about a specimen pouch folio thingie and I loved the design so much, I made one myself. You can find Nik's video here. I call it a snail mail envelope. I used the inside cardboard of a wrapping paper roll for the cover of my envelope. The inside has four pockets/tuck spots to put in all kinds of ephemera, little notes stickers and other goodies. I love how this envelope turned out. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Hugs, Henriëtte.
Few things make me happier than sending snail mail. Below are some hand painted watercolour envelopes I sent out :-)

2019 Topic 3 : Mail Art Keren here, introducing our next topic: Mail Art. When did you last receive an awesomely decorated envelope? Have you ever? With life becoming increasingly digital and online, letter writing has declined and mail art probably even more so. I was not expecting to be blown away and inspired by this topic, but the artistry on these little pieces of mail, are incredible. No matter what your style, there's hopefully something to get you purchasing stamps (of the postage kind!) and sending a little tangible joy via the postman (or woman!). Anna-Karin Anna-Karin kicks us off with a terrific trio of mixed media style envelopes, showing how to combine paint, gesso, stamps and dies. Whilst the extra fragments wouldn't be allowed in the post in the UK, I sure would love to receive one of these! What's really fascinating about the different styles of envelope art is where their focus is. For many it's the background, and the address is the add-on. Mark Powell Or just a beautifully illustrated colourful example such as this. I can see some PaperArtsy stamps being used just like this. Hermine Koster Some artists start to play around with the other elements necessary for mail sent through the postal system The Postman's Knock You can also see some clever designs incorporating the postage stamps too. Hiroko-Yoshimoto I adore the hand painted images on this beautiful example The Postman's Knock Clever composition makes this design so delightful; just thinking about how to incorporate the address lifts this mail art to something spectacular Naomi Loves There are so many choices to make; particularly about the type of paper or substrate. How about something simply clear... Lost Art Revived Or how about these mini marvels using story book pages? Wonderful DIY If we're changing up from paper- how about fabric? You might have to remove buttons and sew it closed to send it? But what a unique way to envelop your greeting! Radiant Home Studio ... or even sewing onto the envelope as part of the design? Viv If a recipient is worth the love..how about sending them a postal trilogy! Ahmet Demir Whether being artistic is your thing, Deborah Russell Or you just need a good excuse to practice your calligraphy! Oliveleafcalli There's hopefully something here that's got you ready to rush and decorate your envelopes. The other thing to mention, before I wrap up, is not to neglect the reverse!! Botanical Art I really hope that you've loved this look at the mini and marvellous and you want to create alongside the other designers on the PaperArtsy blog. There are some further ideas on this Pinterest page. You're going to love the projects we have coming up. We are not doing the linked challenge for 2019, so if you want to create along with us and this topic, please share on our social feeds so we can see what you get up to. Email might be convenient - but not so nice to look at! These were an "accessory" on one of the displays in the Final Year Students exhibition at BCUC - the "Red Shed" textiles design studio. The web site link is here . No web site could do justice to the quality of work on display. I loved the energy and originality of these new young designers. I didn't like to take photos of the exhibits without the explicit permission of the designer first - sadly most of the designers were not there this morning. Boy did I have an itchy shutter finger!!! PS - I may not have a style of my own - but you get variet y in this photostream!!! :-)

Hello! I'm just popping in quickly this morning because we have 10 people coming to our place for lunch today. I'm not cooking (I wish I was, because I love cooking for friends), but the house is a MESS and there is play dough in my hair and I just discovered my black pants have a hole in o

We recently came across a compelling blog post about letters sent home by Russian soldiers during World War II. Without access to envelopes and postcards, the soldiers folded up triangular letters that were their own package--”letter and envelope in one.” The folded format was necessary since mail needed to be reviewed by censors and couldn't be sealed. Although the letters are a great example of historical improvisation, we love the simple little how-to that accompanies the story - an origami-ish illustration for folding up your own triangular letter. It's a fun, out-of-the-ordinary way to send a gift or holiday card,

When I was in high school I started playing a little game called Mail Tag. I was inspired by a great little Canadian TV show called Our Hero - Kale and her friend Gordon would send postcards to each other and request something of each other - usually it was pretty abstract. I played Mail Tag

Snail rubber stamp for mail decorating. If you need an extra touch to your mailing, this stamp will be perfect for you. Hand carved stamp to create a cool pattern on any surface. Perfect for fabric, notebooks, post cards, thank you cards, envelopes letters and everything else. Good finish to your snail mail, scrapbooking or project life. Great as a gift for crafters and paper lovers. Diameters 6,4 x 2,3 cm. Other size can be made upon request (custom order). If you are not sure whether you want a stamp mounted on wood or not, buy a mounted stamp and write in the comments to the order - do not mount for me. You will test how to make prints without a block, and if you will stick, you will stick the stamp to the block with white wood glue. Made by me in a clean, smoke and pet free studio. All my stamps are unique, made with attention to detail. The stamp you receive may vary slightly from the picture shown in the listing, such is the nature of it, being carved by hand. All my stamps must be tested to ensure that the imprint is just right, so a slight ink stain is normal. This does not affect the quality of the stamp. Made to order - production time + estimated delivery days I'm using 06-0,8 cm thick rubber. It is not necessary to wash stamps. Just reprint the stamp several times until the ink stops leaving a trace. If you want clean, do it with moist baby tissue. Don't be surprised if your stamp takes on colors from inks. This is normal and will not affect. Never scrub or wipe your stamp. I will be happy to create a combine shipping of my stamps and prints, so do not forget looking round my shop for the other stamps. Shipping cost for multiple items is the same! I will love to see what you do with them! Add me on Instagram when you publish work with my stamps @szczepanskaewa_ Thank you for visit my shop!
