In all honesty I don't get the River hate in the fandom. The Doctor like every single one of us has lost those he loved and like us is capable of loving more people after that. Yes he loved Rose. Yes he loves his unnamed first wife. He also loves River. He grieves the loss of them and will inevitably move on after River.
