The year was 2011, I was drawing a Corvette concept on a piece of cheap A4 paper. Nine years later I find myself using the same drawing as a motivation, and core inspiration, for creation of MJ-C3. If the 2011 concept is the soul of MJ-C3, then its body is made out of a classic C3 Corvette, mixed with C4 design elements, and concept Corvettes like Aerovette, CERV II and XP-880 Astro. During the design process I was divided between engine layouts, simply because the iconic bonnet look disappears if the car has a mid-engined layout. After some thinking I decided that Chevrolet Corvette MJ-C3 is a mid-engine sports car concept. The prominent feature of the MJ-C3 is the clamshell body design, a horizontal line splits top half of the vehicle from the bottom half. This race car like design ensures easy access to the trunk and engine areas. I love Corvettes!
